Temple introduction to Shanyuan Temple

Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, Shanyuan Temple in Baoquan Mountain was called Shengshui Temple and was the lower courtyard of Shenyang Ci'en Temple. The interior design of the courtyard is even more unique. The "Daxiong Hall", "Guanyin Hall", "Ksitigarbha Hall", "Tianwang Hall" and the second floor of bells and drums have exquisite architectural craftsmanship, eye-catching colors and magnificent glazed decorations. Five Hundred Arhats Square, the statues of Sakyamuni Buddha, the Four Heavenly Kings and the Five Hundred Arhats on the square are all lifelike and solemn. The "Sutra Collection Building" is raising donations for later interior decoration work. The Bell and Drum Tower, East and West Side Halls, Zen Hall, Dharma Protector Hall, etc. that have yet to be (re)built need the support of the believers.

The 30-ton Jade Buddha of Shanyuan Temple

The temple has the country’s unique Jade Reclining Buddha (Myanmar Jade), which weighs 30 tons. There are artificial release pools with multiple springs lined up. The head of the artificial pond in Fushun contains the Tripitaka, a precious cultural relic from the Qianlong period, and a large bell donated by the fifth concubine of the warlord Zhang Zuolin during the Republic of China. The temple is paved with colorful bricks; the trees outside the temple are lush, with green pines and willows. It is a good place for people to worship Buddha and relax.

Baoquan Mountain lives up to its name. There are seven sweet springs in the mountain. The clear water flows all year round. The spring water contains a variety of minerals and is sweet and delicious (the temple in the early years was named after "holy water"). Baoquan Mountain has beautiful scenery and excellent Feng Shui. It is said that there was a temple built in Baoquan Mountain as early as the Tang Dynasty, but it was so old that there are no written records or physical objects to be verified. There is an iron bell under the apricot tree in the temple, which was cast in the "Fifth Month of Renshen". It was probably donated by Zhang Zuolin, the warlord of Fengtian, in 1932 after his death.
