Luo Hansong (scientific name: Podocarpusmacrophyllus(Thunb. )D。 Don), alias Taxodium ascendens, Podocarpaceae, Podocarpus is an evergreen coniferous tree, with a height of 2 meters and a DBH of 6 cm; Bark gray or grayish brown, shallow longitudinal crack, flake off;
branches spread or spread obliquely, which are dense. Leaves are spirally inserted, strip-lanceolate, slightly curved. Male bulbs are spicate and axillary, with several triangular bracts at the base;
Female cones are solitary with axillary leaves, pedunculate and few bracts at the base. The seed is ovoid, the apex is round, the fleshy aril is purple-black when ripe, with white powder, and the receptacle is cylindrical, red or purplish red.
The flowering period is April-May, and the seeds mature in August-September.
