The fourth grade composition writes "Why Ants Can Forecast the Weather"
When I was in fifth grade, I often went to my mother-in-law’s house in the countryside to play. Every time I play in the yard of my broken house, I often find ants walking around beside the flowers. I'm a curious person, so these ants caught my attention.
When I observe ants every day, I find that after I get up, the ants slowly go to "work" and don't "get off work" until about 5:30 in the afternoon. Ants do this every day. But today, the ants are acting abnormally. When I got up, he had been working for a long time, sometimes even building soil on the nest, and the ant's "territory" was also much higher. In the evening, it was past 10 o'clock and he still hadn't gotten off work. That night, I thought about it all night, but I couldn't figure out why the ants suddenly behaved abnormally today. But on the second day after arriving, the sky became gloomy, the northwest sky was dark, and it started to rain. At this moment, I thought of what Ant had done yesterday. Could this be related to the rain today? Can ants really predict the weather? These two questions have been intersecting in my mind.
With these two questions, I went online to check information about ants, and I found out: before it rains, due to the increase in humidity in the air, the soil absorbs a lot more water. As a result, ant nests living in the soil become moist. To avoid flooding, ants often move before heavy rains. Although I say this, I am still half-convinced: Can ants really predict the weather? Even we humans have to use high-tech things to know the weather, let alone these insignificant ants?
From that day on, whenever the ants behave abnormally, it will rain. Therefore, I have to believe that ants can really predict the weather. I finally discovered that ants can predict the weather.
When I finished writing this essay, I couldn’t help but say: “Not only humans, but also the creatures in the world have great wisdom.
