Shangrao City has a warm and humid climate, which is a humid subtropical climate. The Xinjiang River basin covers an area of 16,890 square kilometers, and the basin area within Shangrao City is 12,221.3 square kilometers, accounting for 72% of the entire basin area and 7.44% of the Poyang Lake watershed area.
The Rao River is mainly composed of the Le'an River and the Changjiang River, with a total drainage area of 15,428 square kilometers, accounting for 9.5% of the Poyang Lake watershed area.
