Guide to rural tourism in the late Tang Dynasty
The village at the end of the Tang Dynasty was founded in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is one of the oldest ancient villages in Huizhou, with prosperous economy, prosperous style and simple folk customs. So far, this village has preserved a large number of ancient buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, attracting many tourists.
I remember before I went to the village at the end of the Tang Dynasty, I was very curious when I heard that it had the reputation of "the first village of Shuikou Garden in China". Most of the ancient villages I usually live in are ancient buildings, and there are few Shuikou gardens.
There was a garden near Shuijie in the late Tang Dynasty, namely Gan Tang Garden. Gan Tang Garden consists of pools, pavilions and long dikes. Its area is not very large, but the scenery is beautiful. If it weren't for the introduction of the tour guide, I really didn't know there was a touching story hidden here.
Gan Yuan of Tang Dynasty was built in the early Qing Dynasty, with a history of nearly 300 years. It was renovated once during the Qianlong period. According to legend, in the early Qing Dynasty, there was a rich man named Xu in Tang Mo who operated 36 pawn shops in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. He is a famous wealthy businessman and very filial.
His mother wanted to visit the West Lake in Hangzhou all her life, but she was too old and weak to make it. Therefore, this dutiful son spent a lot of money to build this garden, imitating the core scenery of Hangzhou West Lake for his mother's amusement, so he has the reputation of "Little West Lake" and "Xiaozi Lake".
In this "Little West Lake", basically all the famous scenic spots of Hangzhou West Lake have been moved. You can see San Tan Yin Yue, Lingguan Bridge, Lakeside Pavilion, Daiyu Bridge, Su Causeway, Bai Causeway and so on. Here, you are surrounded by pavilions, bridges, flowing water and winding paths. The environment is exceptionally quiet and elegant, and people have to be moved by his filial piety, which is even more impressive.
The core building of Tang 'an Garden is the "Mirror Pavilion", which is surrounded by water and has a platform on the front. Standing on the platform, you can see the scenery of "Little West Lake". Although Tang 'an Garden is much smaller than Hangzhou West Lake, it does have some beauty and charm of the West Lake, which can be called a miniature West Lake.
There is an inscription in the pavilion, which was built in the early Qing Dynasty. They are places where scholars and celebrities appreciate literature. The inscription is a collection of cursive, running and regular scripts of Su Shi, Mi Fei, Zhu, Huang Tingjian and Ni.
There is also a small temple in Tang Anyuan, which is Zhonglie Temple. This is dedicated to Xu Yuan, a famous minister in the Tang Dynasty. It commemorates Xu Yuan, the ancestor of the Xu family, who helped Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty put down the Anshi Rebellion and died for his country.
There is also a famous archway next to Tang 'an Garden, named "Compatriot Hanlin Square", which was built in the Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty. It was built in memory of Xu Chengxuan and Xu Chengjia in Tangmo Village. There is a saying in Anhui: "There are several arched buildings in Huizhou, and there is one and a half arched buildings in Huizhou". Half of them refer to this one in the late Tang Dynasty, which shows that it is one of the "three unique ancient buildings" with high status and high specifications.
