Is there any level of six-character poems?
Six-character poems are called six-character quatrains. Like other five- and seven-character poems, they also have flat and oblique rhymes. Li Bai, Du Fu and others all wrote about the Six Wonders. Typical examples include:
A distant village with solitary smoke at the foot of the mountain,
A plateau with a single tree on the horizon.
Going back to the alley with a beautiful face,
Mr. Wuliu is opposite the door.
——Wang Wei's "Secluded Residence"
Across from the door is a stream of water,
The clouds are connected to the home of Yandang Immortal.
Who understands the meaning of secluded people?
I am used to seeing birds and mountains.
——Li Bai's "Spring Scene"
My thoughts are as white as my hair,
My life is green.
The empty mountain is greeted by snow,
No one returns to the wild road.
——Li Yu's "Kaiyuan Music"
