Introduction to Dongfeng Hydropower Station
88 kilometers away from the provincial capital Guiyang, it is the first level of the cascade development of the main stream of the Wujiang Hydropower Base basin. It was completed and put into production in December 1995. The original installed capacity is 510,000 kilowatts (3×170,000 kilowatts), and the average power generation capacity over the years is 2.42 billion kilowatt hours. From the beginning of 2004 to May 2005, the power plant implemented a capacity expansion project, and the installed capacity increased to 570,000 kilowatts (3×190,000 kilowatts). The normal storage level of the reservoir is 970 meters, with a corresponding storage capacity of 864 million cubic meters and a total storage capacity of 1.016 billion cubic meters. It has incomplete annual adjustment performance. The dam site controls a basin area of 18,161 square kilometers, accounting for 21% of the Wujiang River basin area. The average annual flow rate is 343 cubic meters/second, and the average annual runoff is 10.89 billion cubic meters. The average annual rainfall is 1102 mm. The annual average temperature at the dam site is 16.7°C.
