According to the textual research of the elderly who have been engaged in cultural work for many years in Haizhu District, the street name of "Long" within the scope of Nanhua West Street originated from Longxi Township (now the first contract of Longxi). The founder of the town was Pan Qi, a wealthy businessman from Guangzhou during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Pan Shizu was born in Longxi Township, Quanzhou, Fujian. After Pan Qi became rich in business in Guangdong, he took a fancy to the criss-crossing waterways and convenient transportation in South China and West China, so he built houses and ancestral temples here and settled in towns and villages. In order to show that we don't forget our ancestors, we still named this place Longxi Township. Pan Qi * * * has seven sons, with a growing population and bigger houses, so the names of nearby streets are marked with the word "Dragon". It was not until the reform and opening up that this place gradually developed into the center of "Henan Land" (Haizhu District).

In the Qing Dynasty, there was an island opposite the riverbank in Longxi Township, named "Aozhou". Pan Qi invested in the construction of three stone bridges, namely Shuzhu Bridge, Zhu Huan Bridge and Yuelong Bridge, to facilitate communication. Among them, Yuelong Bridge crosses the north and south of Aozhou and Longxi Township, which means jumping from Aozhou into Longxi. Therefore, the vicinity of Yuelong Bridge is also called Yuelongli. Later, because of the changes in the nearby business district, Yuelongli moved to the east of Tongqing Road, which was called "Yuelong Shang Jie", and the waterway between Australia and Henan was buried because of the opening of this road.

There is also the "Eastern Jin Dragon" in Henan.

In addition to "Nanhan Dragon" and "Fujian Dragon", the place name of "Dragon" in Haizhu District is also called "Dongjin Dragon". According to old records, Longtan Township, Xinjiao, Haizhu District is now formerly known as Xincun Dun. In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Lu Xun, the leader of the peasant uprising, led the navy from Jiangsu and Zhejiang to the south, and once stationed at the dock of Xincun in Henan and built a village, which was called "Lu Xun's old city" in history. Lu Xun was a little dragon, and most of the people who followed him south were houseboats, also known as dragons, so Xincun Pier was renamed "Longtan", and the place name is still in use today.

Nanhan Dragon, Minlong Dragon and Dongjin Dragon, the confluence of these three well-documented dragons, are the main sources of dragon place names in Haizhu District. In addition, other experts and elders also told reporters what they knew. For example, the old man Xia Deying thinks that the "dragon" in Baotou Steel may be a "feng shui dragon" on the terrain. Chen Jiankang, the stationmaster of Erlong Street Cultural Station, thinks that Ma Yong, which flows through the west of Haizhu District, may form a "river dragon".
