Later, he colluded with imperialists, bureaucrats and politicians to develop feudal gang forces, and became the largest leader in green gang, with more than 0/000 disciples, manipulating gambling and other criminal activities.

End of character:
After the collapse of Kuomintang rule, Du Fu and others left Shanghai for Hong Kong. Huang Ming stayed in Shanghai.
As early as before the liberation of Shanghai, the * * * production party considered working for Huang, using his influence in gangs to stabilize the situation in Shanghai. Therefore, the * * * production party sent him a message through yang hu (Huang's brother) to persuade him not to run away with the Kuomintang.
In the future, Huang said to Cheng and other cronies: "yang hu said that the leader of the * * * production party knew me and could let bygones be bygones. He wrote a note to yang hu and gave it to me, asking me to hand it over to the Shanghai responsible person after liberation and not to arrest me."
Although Huang said this, he knew from decades of experience in dealing with politicians that these words were just lip service and he didn't know how to say them.
While hesitating, Mrs. Zhang brought a message from the Producers' Party of China: As long as we support the Producers' Party and stop being enemies with the people, we will definitely pursue the policy of "letting bygones be bygones" and hope that Huang will stay in Shanghai and not listen to rumors and act rashly. These words strengthened Huang's confidence in not leaving.
Huang, who stayed in Shanghai, did the following things as a gift to the * * * production party: he did not participate in the sweeping and slaughter before the collapse of the Kuomintang, sheltered some underground party member and supported them to take over Shanghai; Give some materials and property records of the Kuomintang to the underground party;
He ordered his protege to collect information about gang leaders, and finally handed over the list of 400 gang leaders, letting the producers do their work. In addition, he told his disciples to take down and smash the plaque of "Wen Hang Zhong Xin" inscribed by Chiang Kai-shek in the "Four Lecture Halls" in Huangjia Garden, to show the intention of abandoning darkness and turning evil into light and turning right.
In the early days of liberation in Shanghai, Huang lived in seclusion at home, without asking about foreign affairs, and lived a comfortable life. However, a series of decrees promulgated by the government later brought about qualitative changes in Huang's life.
195 1 After the suppression of the counter-revolutionary movement began at the beginning of the year, Huang's life began to get sad, and the citizens even spontaneously rushed to the door of Huang Zhai and asked him to accept criticism.
Faced with this grim situation, Huang, who was forced to do so, published Confessions of Huang in Shanghai News and Wen Wei Po on May 20th. In his confession, he claimed to "turn himself in and turn over a new leaf", "make amends" and "ask the government and people for forgiveness".
Huang's Confessions was a sensation at that time, but the publication of Confessions did not stabilize him. In a society where everyone has to work, Huang's life must also change.
The government sent someone to find Huang and said, if my health permits, I hope to sweep the road at the gate of the "big world" in the morning. Of course, Huang is extremely dissatisfied with this instruction, but the world has changed. He has no choice but to appear at the door of the world with a broom and in front of the cameras of many reporters.
The photo of Huang sweeping the street at the gate of the world was published in major newspapers in Shanghai and immediately spread all over the country. Du was deeply moved when he read this newspaper in Hong Kong. He was glad that he didn't stay in Shanghai.
Although this symbolic "transformation" measure did not last long, by 1953, the Shanghai municipal government decided to crack down on Huang's remnants again. Huang fell ill because of psychological fear.
Before he died, he called his adopted son Huang home and made a will. Finally, he sighed, "all my life, the leaves have been blown away by the wind, leaving only this' big world'." However, after death, the' big world' can no longer belong to me. " A few days later, Huang suddenly had a high fever and closed his eyes at the age of 86.
