Where is Liu Bei's body?
Some people think that Liu Bei's tomb is in Wuhou Temple in Chengdu. Their basis comes from Chen Shou's History of the Three Kingdoms. Chen Shou is the history of Guan Ge in Shu Han (engaged in the management of documents and archives). He has lived in Shu Han for more than 3 years, and he must know the burial place of Liu Bei. According to the History of the Three Kingdoms, after Liu Bei's death, his body was transported back to Chengdu from Fengjie, and then buried with Mrs. Wu in Huiling (now Wuhou Temple). When people in Wuhou Temple Museum planted trees, they accidentally found many bricks of Shu-Han period in a tree pit dug on the edge of Liu Bei's Tomb's closed soil. This proves the reliability of the records of Huiling and Liu Bei's Tomb in Chengdu in Historical Documents such as The History of the Three Kingdoms.
some people have also put forward rebuttal opinions to this view. They believe that Liu Bei, who died in Sichuan in the summer, can only remain uncorrupted for 3 days at most. It is impossible for Zhuge Liang to pull the stinking body and bury Liu Bei in Chengdu after more than three months of trekking. Based on the above analysis, some experts believe that Lotus Village at the foot of Muma Mountain and Pengshan Mountain is Liu Bei's burial place, while Wuhou Temple in Chengdu is only Liu Bei's "cenotaph".
Others think that Liu Bei was buried in Fengjie. Ren Yuan, a bachelor of the Southern Song Dynasty, wrote in "Rebuilding the Temple of the Ancestor" that Huiling in Chengdu is only a tomb of a bow and sword, not a real tomb. Guo Moruo also agrees with this statement.
Yuan Dongshan, an archaeologist, also believes that from the records of literature and history, it is highly probable that Liu Bei will be buried in Fengjie. But I don't agree with the popular saying that Liu Bei was buried under a hotel in fengjie county. He believes that during the Three Kingdoms period, there was no habit of building a cemetery in the city, and Zhuge Liang would not put Liu Bei's body in a crowded county. So Liu Bei's Tomb is likely to be in Fengjie, but certainly not in fengjie county.
In 21, a new saying came out that Liu Bei was buried in Lianhua Village, Muma Township, pengshan county, Meishan City. Wang Jinchuan, a researcher of Meishan Municipal Bureau of Culture and Sports, believes that the ancient emperor was buried in his hometown or a treasure house of geomantic omen unless it was for special reasons. The geomantic omen, geographical location and environment of the imperial tomb in Lianhua Village of Muma Township are better than Wuhou Temple, and Liu Bei's Tomb is more likely to be in Pengshan than Wuhou Temple. Many cultural relics experts and collectors in Meishan support this view.
where is Liu Bei's body buried? This is a question that many fans of the Three Kingdoms have been concerned about for several years, and it is still a puzzle that has not been finalized.
