The subtropical high in the northern and southern hemispheres is strongest in July

Distributed on the west coast of the continent between 30 and 40 degrees south and north latitude. It is also widely distributed and is the only climate type that is found on all continents in the world except Antarctica. The eastern part of the subtropical high is an area of ​​strong downdraft movement. The downdraft is warmed by adiabatic compression, and persistent sunny and hot weather will occur in the controlled area. The western part of the subtropical high is an area of ​​convergent and upward movement of low-level warm and humid air, which is prone to thundershowers. As the seasons change, the intensity and location of the subtropical high pressure belt will also undergo obvious seasonal changes. From January to July, the main body of the subtropical high pressure shows a trend of moving northward and westward and increasing in intensity; from July to January, the main body of the subtropical high pressure moves southward and eastward and weakens in intensity. This seasonal change also has distinct stages of slow change and jump change.

The subtropical high pressure zone is a warm high pressure located in the subtropical region. It is approximately located near 30 degrees south and north latitude. This high-pressure belt is the boundary between the prevailing westerly belt and the easterly belt, and its high-latitude side is the westerly belt. Under the control of the subtropical high pressure, the weather is sunny, and on its northwest side is the southwest airflow jump area (passage rain area). The high pressure between the tropics and the extratropics is called the subtropical high, and the one that controls the Pacific is usually called the Pacific subtropical high. It changes with the seasons and is generally active between 10 and 40°N.
