About orchid golden ponytail

China has a long history of orchid cultivation, and our predecessors have accumulated rich experience in orchid cultivation. We should master the experience of our predecessors, absorb its essence, and deeply understand: cultivation environment, planting materials, watering, fertilization, and prevention and control of pests and diseases. It is the five links of orchid cultivation management.

1. the choice of environment is more important. Whelan mainly grows under the shrubs in subtropical forests, and develops the growth habit that orchids like to be semi-cloudy and semi-sunny, and like to be moist and ventilated. As long as we master the growth law of orchids and provide or create environmental conditions close to orchids, all parts of the country are suitable for cultivating Chunlan Huilan.

2. Use of planting materials. According to the experience of cultivation in various places, orchids can be raised well no matter what plant materials (including soilless culture) as long as they are slightly acidic. The problem is that different plant materials should adopt different management methods. It is best to use clay pots or Yixing clay pots for flowerpots, because orchids are air-rooted plants, and the ventilation of flowerpots is very beneficial to orchid growth.

3. Reasonable watering is the key to raising orchids. The water for watering orchids should be clean and slightly acidic, and sewage with germs should never be watered. The method of watering should be different according to different plants. The loose mountain mud contains enough water, and the granular soil plus rocky volcanic rock absorbs enough water, but it does not accumulate water. After different plants were watered once, the surface of the basin was dry, and the plants turned white about one centimeter. In order to raise the air temperature, the surface of the basin can be sprayed to increase the water content of the planting materials in the upper abundant basin to keep bluegrass and pseudobulb moist to a certain extent, and then the whole basin is watered with water when it is not completely dry.

4. Fertilization: On the basis of mastering watering, in order to promote bluegrass to grow better, fertilization becomes more and more important. Organic fertilizer, that is, farmyard manure, should be diluted and applied every ten days, and other inorganic fertilizers (chemical fertilizers) should be used according to the instructions. Foliage fertilizer can be topdressing outside the roots during the growth period of orchids. Base fertilizer is also very important. When turning over pots and changing soil, appropriate amount of base fertilizer can be added when the fertilizer does not touch the orchid root. Too much fertilizer is easy to burn the orchid root and produce black spots. If it is properly fertilized, it can produce strong seedlings and flowers. The general requirements for fertilizing orchids are small amount, thin and light, and really thin and diligent application.

5. Pest control: Pests are easy to prevent, but fungal diseases are difficult to treat. If scale insects and other pests are found in bluegrass, they can be sprayed according to the instructions, and it is best to use them together, 2-4 times a year. General bacterial diseases can also be treated as black spots, and fungicides such as kocide, methyl debenzene, and Baijunqing can be used. According to the instructions, the growth period is 15-2 days, and the treatment and prevention are sprayed regularly. If Balassa soft rot (rotten coccidiosis) is found, it is an incurable disease in orchids. Once found, it can be removed in time. Therefore, when buying bluegrass, we must pay attention to it, and we must buy the diseased grass with lower price at home, which will affect other valuable bluegrass.
