Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches
The eight characters are from the Book of Changes. Eight-character fortune-telling means that our destiny is known and predictable, and we can predict the fate by the time of birth. It provides a theoretical basis for us to reveal the movement law of human life in the natural "qi" of heaven and earth. "Qi" here is a variant of "shua". Heavenly stems are "heavenly stems" and earthly branches are "earthly branches".
Ten-day stems: A (ji ǐ), B (yǐ), C (bǐng), D(Dǐng), E (w ǐ), J (jǐ), G (G Ǜ ng), Xin (xǐn).
Twelve earthly branches: Zi (zǐ), chou (Chou), Yin (yín), Mao (m ǐ o), Chen (chén), Si (s), Wu (), Wei (wèi) and Shen (shēn).
Five elements attribute of earthly branch
Son (mouse) belongs to sunny water, north; Hai (pig) belongs to yin water, north.
Yin (tiger) belongs to poplar, oriental; Wool (rabbit) belongs to the shade wood, oriental.
The fourth (snake) belongs to yin fire, south; Noon (horse) belongs to yang fire, which is in the south.
Shen (monkey) genus, western regions; You (chicken) belongs to Yin Jin, the Western Region.
Chen (Long). Xu (Dog) belongs to Yangtu, and China.
Ugly (cow) Not (sheep) belongs to dirt, China people.
Nature of heavenly stems and five elements
A is a wooden pillar, east. B is the tree of flowers and fruits, the East.
C is the fire of the sun, south. Ding is the fire of lamps and candles, Nan.
E is the soil of the city wall, China. I am an idyllic land, China.
Gengzi is axe gold, western. Xin is the gold in western jewelry.
Ren is the water of the northern rivers. The deck is rain and dew, north.
Ten stems and twelve branches are collocated in turn, from Jiazi to Guihai, and a total of 60 combinations are called Sixty Jiazi. The meaning of each group with one syllable and five lines is still a mystery.
