Shanghai Metro Line 16 uses a catenary and a third rail dual-current power supply train. When the main line uses the third rail, the train will use the bottom power supply The signal receiving line is opened. When the catenary is used at the entry and exit section and the warehouse, the train will turn on the pantograph to provide power, but when leaving the entry and exit section, the train will turn off the pantograph.
Shanghai Metro Line 16 trains use 6-car A-type trains, each car is rated to carry about 260 passengers. Taking into account the comfort and safety of long-distance travel, Shanghai Metro Line 16 train adopts the "2+2" horizontal seat layout for the first time among Shanghai Metro trains, which also takes into account the needs of passengers in suburban Shanghai for the passage of large luggage.
