Qiandao Lake is an artificial lake formed in the late 1950s due to the construction of the Xin'anjiang Hydropower Station. It was called the Xin'anjiang Reservoir at the time. How did the charming name Qiandao Lake come from? According to the census of Chun'an County Place Names Committee, the Xin'an River Reservoir has a water level of 108 meters and there are 1,078 islands with an area of more than 3.75 acres, hence the name Qiandao Lake.
Qiandao Lake covers an area of 573 square kilometers, which is equivalent to 108 times that of Hangzhou West Lake. It is the largest artificial lake in East China. It has a water storage capacity of 17.8 billion cubic meters, which is equivalent to more than 3,000 times that of Hangzhou West Lake. Therefore, Guo Moruo's poem It has the reputation of "Three Thousand Counts of Xizi".
The beautiful lakes and mountains of Qiandao Lake are a green world. The mountains are green and the water is green, so people also like to call it the green Qiandao Lake. Qiandao Lake has green mountains, clear lake water and rich tourism resources. The lake is surrounded by peaks and twists and turns. The diverse mountains and islands divide the entire lake area into five distinctive scenic areas: the center, southeast, northwest, southwest and northeast, which are called the "Five Great Lakes Areas".
The central lake area is dominated by natural and cultural landscapes. The main attractions include Meifeng Island Viewing Island, Longshan Island, Wulong Island, Peacock Garden, Wenxin Island, etc. It has vast waters, numerous islands, cultural landscapes and natural landscapes. They complement each other and bring out the best in each other. In the central lake area, you can take a boat ride, explore archeology, pay homage to the ancestors, have a picnic on the island, surf in the water, and enjoy fish and wild green food.
The Southeast Lake District was originally the land of plenty in Chun'an County. After Qiandao Lake was formed, the hills around the lake have been developed into tea fruit bases. The scenic spots here were developed earlier. At present, there are four tourist spots that are already large-scale and can be visited, including Mishan Island, Xianshan Island, Osmanthus Island, Tianchi Fish Viewing, etc. The landscape is mainly based on stone culture and Buddhist culture.
The Northwest Lake District is located at the junction of Zhejiang and Anhui provinces and is the main access to Huangshan Mountain in Anhui. The lake is long, narrow and deep, with towering peaks on both sides, resembling the Yangtze River and the Three Gorges. Chen Shuozhen, China's first female emperor, and Fang La, the leader of the peasant uprising in the Northern Song Dynasty, both stayed here. Visitors come here to see the Ping Diao Shuozhen ruins, Fangla Sheng Cave, Liuxiang Waterfall, Shizhu Peaks, Jin'ao Valley, Xianren Pond and other landscapes. They can also appreciate the customs, culture and unique dwellings of ancient Shanyue.
The southwest lake area has continuous islands, mountains and rivers, criss-crossing harbors and wild scenery. Good places here include Lingyan Waterfall, Longchuan Hundred Lakes, Yingshan Historic Site (where Zhu Xi lectured), Langmao Scenic Area and other places. This is an excellent place for a vacation and is currently under development.
The Northeast Lake District has a wonderful ecological environment and beautiful natural landscape. It has not yet been developed due to traffic problems. The scenic spots that can be developed for sightseeing include Pingfeng Cliff, Shuangxiang Island, Yusun Qifeng, Ganmu Ancient Field, Qiuyuan Waterfall, etc.
In addition to the scenic spots in the lake area, there are many stone scenery around Qiandao Lake, the most spectacular of which is the Fuxi Stone Forest located in the southeast. This stone forest covers an area of several kilometers and is a labyrinth-like karst landform. The three most valuable places are Lanyuping, Tortoiseshell Ridge and Xishanping. Each of these three stone forests has its own characteristics, and there are exquisite and uncanny wonders everywhere. They are praised by tourists as the "No. 1 Stone Forest in East China".
Due to the geographical location of Qiandao Lake and other reasons, the currently open attractions of Qiandao Lake are concentrated in the two major lake areas, the center and the southeast.

Dear group members, the observation deck has arrived. This place embodies the essence of Qiandao Lake scenery. What is now displayed in front of everyone is a beautiful island scenery. On this vast lake, there are more than 300 islands of various sizes dotted around. Looking down and taking a closer look, you can see many islands scattered high and low, mountains and rivers, and harbors. Looking at the panoramic view, you can see green mountains and green waters, blue sky and white clouds, with movement and stillness, many changes, and endless charm. There are various explanations for the group of islands in front of you. Some say it is like a group of bees and butterflies playing with plum blossoms, some say it is like bright pearls placed on a jasper plate, and some say it is green dropped by the goddess. Flowers float in the water. In this water area, the channels between the islands are twists and turns, as if they are separated by many links. When the boat travels through it, there seems to be no way out in some places, and it feels like there is no end after a slight turn, forming a unique "water maze".

Longshan, according to county records, was named after a yellow dragon was seen here during the Wu Yong'an period of the Eastern Han Dynasty. There have always been sayings in Chun'an County praising the local scenery: "Tongqiao Tiejing Xiaojin Mountain, Shixia Academy Huolong Mountain".
The elegant, simple, solemn and dignified building we see now with cornices, carved beams and painted pillars is the Haigong Temple rebuilt by the people of Chun'an in memory of the upright official Hai Rui. This temple is one of the treasures created by Chun'an folk carving artists. It integrates Chun'an folk crafts of wood carving, stone carving and brick carving. Most of these plaques and couplets are written by famous artists and have profound cultural connotations. According to records, after Hai Rui was transferred from Chun'an at the end of his term in the 41st year of Jiajing reign in the Ming Dynasty (1562), the people of Chun'an spontaneously donated land and raised funds to build the Hai Gongsheng Temple in the county seat, and built a "Go Si Monument". As a souvenir. In the fifth year of Wanli (1577), Haigong Temple was moved to Nanshan on the other side of the county seat, just across the water from the county government office. It created an artistic conception of "going to the hall is like seeing Mr. Hai", in order to commemorate the past and remind the present. Coincidentally, today the Haigong Temple is also facing the county courtyard. For this reason, Mr. Zhao Puchu wrote the allusion of "the ancestral hall facing the court" into the couplets.
Now let’s go to the Stele Gallery to see the handwritten inscriptions left by Hai Rui. All tourists who come to Hai Rui Temple must visit the Stele Gallery and praise Hai Rui's calligraphy skills. For example, this Kuangcao "Shou" character written in one go is very original and unique. According to folklore, the character "shou" is composed of the four characters "biological mother". This was specially written by Hai Rui to celebrate his mother's birthday during his tenure in Chun'an.
This Gosi monument was built when the people of the city raised funds to build Haigong Temple after Hai Rui left office. The original inscription has been submerged. The one we see now is based on the manuscript of the inscription recorded in the county annals. Re-engraved.
Dear group members, now we have arrived at the court hall of Haigong Temple. Everyone, look at this statue of Hai Rui. The texture is concrete, it is 3 meters tall and weighs 4500 kilograms. The weight and expression of the statue are based on the Ming Dynasty portraits collected by the Palace Museum in Beijing, and refer to the character traits of Hai Rui, the needle in the cotton.
