Xiamen classic three-day tour route
Xiamen is a famous tourist city with many attractions, but your travel time is limited. If you want to have a full time, you need to plan your route in advance. On the first day, we toured around Xiamen University and rode on Huandao Road in the evening; on the second day, we explored the old neighborhoods; on the third day, we visited Gulangyu Island to enjoy various scenic spots. Route Overview
The first day’s route is concentrated around Xiamen University and Huandao Road in Siming District. Walking and cycling are Best mode of transportation.
Day 1 itinerary: Nanputuo Temple (2.5h) → Xiamen University (3h) → Xiamen University Baicheng Beach (2h) → Huandao Road (2h)
9:00 Nanputuo Temple
Highlights: strong incense, popular tourist attractions, vegetarian cake souvenirs
On the morning of the first day, we visited Nanputuo Temple, located next to Xiamen University. This ancient temple in southern Fujian has the best reputation among tourists. Entry to the temple is free, and each visitor can receive a stick of incense for free.
After visiting the main hall, you can follow the trail behind the temple to climb Wulaofeng. The one-way trip takes 30-50 minutes. The top of the mountain is an excellent place to overlook the whole view of Xiamen University, Xiamen Twin Towers and the vast sea. It also further confirms the saying that Nanputuo is a "fengshui treasure land".

Nanputuo Temple has a vegetarian restaurant, which is a major signature of the temple. Interested tourists may wish to experience it. If you want to experience the campus cafeteria, the third floor of Furong Restaurant on the Xiamen University campus is open to tourists. You can also find some affordable restaurants that are popular among Xiamen students around the campus.
12:00 Xiamen University
Highlights: the combination of Chinese and Western architecture, Furong Tunnel
The popular attractions in Xiamen University are divided into three categories: architecture, nature and museums. The Jiannan Auditorium and Song'en Building on campus are the most majestic and suitable for taking photos. Furong Lake and Lover's Valley have the best natural scenery. Tourists who like the humanistic atmosphere can also visit the Lu Xun Museum and the Museum of Mankind.
In addition, you can visit more than one bookstore, Time Bookstore and coffee shops scattered around the campus.
The Furong Tunnel is 1 kilometer long, with creative graffiti painted by students on both sides. Visitors can also use their creativity to take interesting photos. There is also a souvenir shop in the tunnel to browse. It is recommended to walk to the end and then turn back in the tunnel, and go directly from the Baicheng campus gate to Xiamen University Baicheng Beach.
Campus opening hours
The opening hours from Monday to Friday are 12:00-14:00 (limited to 1,000 people), and 17:00-24:00 in the evening (no current limit). There are no restrictions on visiting hours and number of people on weekends. You can enter with your ID card.
16:00 Baicheng Beach
Highlight: The closest seaside place to Xiamen University
Baicheng Beach is only separated from Xiamen University by a road, which is where most tourists come Xiamen University tourists will visit the beach near the sea. The beach is vast and is a popular spot for sea viewing near the city.
18:00 Huandao Road
Highlights: Coastal cycling, beautiful scenery along the way, delicious snacks Day two: Appreciate the architecture of southern Fujian and explore the literary and artistic streets
Route overview
Go to Jimei Mei Village the next morning. It is far away from other attractions. It is recommended to take the subway there. Other attractions can be reached on foot or by bicycle.
Day 2 itinerary: Jimei Mei Village (3h) → Shapowei (3h) → Shimao Cloud Xiamen Observation Deck (1.5h) → Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street (3h)
9 ：00 Jimei Meisei Village

Walking around Jimei Meisei Village, you can see the fusion of Nanyang style and southern Fujian characteristics in architecture everywhere, no matter how tall or spectacular it is Xun Tower, whether it is small and elegant, such as the pavilions and pavilions surrounding the dragon boat pond, or the brightly colored ancient houses with red walls, are all unforgettable.

Take the "Metro Line with a View of the Sea"
Take the newly opened Metro Line 1 from Jimei Mei Village to Shapowei. Compared with traditional buses, the subway shortens the journey time to one hour.
Taking the subway across the sea, admiring the beautiful scenery along the way, and listening to the soft Hokkien station announcement is also a unique travel experience in Xiamen.
14:00 Shapowei

The traditional style of the “Old Xiamen Fishing Port” and the “New Wave of Literature and Art” "Fashion elements are unusually combined in Shapowei. Shapowei is home to creative workshops, atmospheric cafes, internet celebrity restaurants, and famous dessert shops, etc. Young literary and artistic people love to spend time here. The distinctive street scene also attracts many young couples and photography enthusiasts to take photos in concave shapes.
17:00 Clouds in Xiamen
Highlights: all-glass observation deck, high-altitude stroll
Five minutes walk from Shapowei, you will reach Xiamen’s new landmark In Shimao Tower, before sunset, climb to the 360-degree all-glass observation deck on the 55th floor, overlooking Xiamen and Taiwan. There is also a love rooftop and a high-altitude glass plank on the 58th floor of the building. Visitors who like excitement can go to the outdoor viewing rooftop to experience it.
Ticket price: Adult tickets cost 120 yuan to go to the 55th floor rooftop. On top of this, you can add 20 yuan to visit the Love Rooftop, and add 80 yuan to experience the high-altitude glass plank road. There are discounts for the elderly and children. It is recommended to purchase tickets online in advance, as there will be a certain discount.
