My rabbit is kept in the yard. How can we spend the summer safely?
Pay attention to whether the rabbit will tear off the wet towel
Gently wet the rabbit's ears and hair with clear water. Because rabbits mainly rely on a pair of ears to dissipate heat, and the ears are covered with blood vessels, which will expand when they are hot. When the rabbit's ears and hair are wet, the heat will flow away with the air, thus lowering the blood temperature and body temperature.
When the weather is wet, wet wool can easily become a hotbed of wet weather bacteria. In addition, be careful not to pour water into your ears to avoid inflammation.
Putting a marble or tile in a cage and letting the rabbit lie on it can make the rabbit feel cool, which is economical and environmentally friendly, and the temperature drop is quite high.
The rabbit lying in the same place for a long time will shorten the distance between body temperature and brick temperature, so it is best to lay a big brick and lie in another place when it is warm. Avoid using many small bricks instead of big bricks at the same time, because the gap between bricks will pinch rabbits.
Comb off excess hair for rabbits, especially long-haired rabbits or short-haired rabbits, bringing real coolness.
When using scissors, you should be especially careful to avoid hurting rabbits. At the same time, don't cut it too short to avoid catching cold at night, and remember that the hair on the soles of your feet should not be cut off to avoid losing its protective effect.
Give the rabbit more fresh vegetables and cool it down. Compared with the external environment, vegetables contain water, so it is helpful for rabbits to eat more fresh vegetables to cool off the heat.
The amount of fresh vegetables for rabbits should be gradually increased, and it should not be rushed. Don't suddenly add a lot just because rabbits like to eat. If you find that rabbits have increased soft stools or loose bowels after eating fresh vegetables, you should reduce the weight or stop feeding.
