Why is the mausoleum of Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang located outside?
There are three main reasons:
Queen Xiaozhuangwen was the concubine of Emperor Taizong Huang Taiji of the Qing Dynasty. According to the rules, she should be buried with her husband, that is, moved back to Zhaoling in Shenyang. But she herself didn't want to go back. Her son and grandson were all in Qing Dongling, so she didn't want to go back.
Shunzhi had been buried in the Feng Shui wall of Dongling Tomb at that time, and the mausoleum was in the middle. Xiaozhuang is his mother, and he is higher in seniority. If he is buried in the Dongling Tomb, what will happen to the middle position? Therefore, Kangxi has been hesitating. He didn't know where to build the mausoleum. He only built a temporary enshrinement hall and demolished the palace where his grandma lived before his death. How deep his feelings were.
Kangxi had been thinking about this problem throughout his life, and how to solve it, which would fulfill his grandmother's last wish without affecting the seniority in the Feng Shui Wall. Until my death, I still couldn't figure out a way to get the best of both worlds. As a result, Yongzheng succeeded to the throne and solved the problem immediately. Because Yongzheng had no relationship with his wife, everything was based on saving money. The mausoleum was built on the site of the temporary anfeng hall and completed directly.
