Since ancient times, people have celebrated the harvest and sacrificed their ancestors at this time. At this time, new folk wheat came out, and people sacrificed pasta to the gods. On the day of summer solstice, there is a folk custom of eating noodles, which is called "summer solstice noodles" and "prone noodles"

So, can pregnant women eat noodles happily?

(1) Noodles are made of flour. We generally refer to wheat flour, which belongs to cereals, and cereals are the main source of dietary energy. So pregnant mothers can eat noodles as their staple food.

(2) In recent years, with the rise of a balanced diet, "whole wheat noodles" made of "whole wheat flour" have gradually entered people's sight. So, what's the difference between wheat flour and whole wheat flour?

Wheat flour is made by removing wheat bran and endosperm and grinding; Whole wheat flour is to grind whole wheat into flour without removing bran and endosperm. Whole wheat flour contains all the nutrients of grain. Compared with wheat flour, the content of carbohydrates and protein is basically similar, but the content of B vitamins and dietary fiber in whole wheat flour is much higher than that in wheat flour. B vitamins are essential nutrients for pregnant mothers, which can promote energy metabolism and maintain human health. The same amount of whole wheat flour contains vitamin B 1(0.5mg/ 100g), which is six times that of refined wheat flour (0.09 mg/ 100 g), and the same amount of whole wheat flour contains vitamin B2 (0. 16 mg/65433 g). Because wheat bran contains more dietary fiber, the same amount of whole wheat flour (10.7g/ 100g) contains 36 times as much dietary fiber as refined wheat flour (0.3g/ 100g). As we all know, dietary fiber helps to defecate and improve constipation. Therefore, pregnant mothers who are prone to constipation are more suitable for eating whole wheat flour.

In addition, the glycemic index (GI) of whole wheat flour noodles is lower than that of wheat flour noodles, which is more suitable for pregnant mothers with gestational diabetes.

After the summer solstice, the temperature rises gradually, and the diet should be aimed at clearing away heat and relieving summer heat and stimulating appetite. Don't be too salty or too sweet, eat more foods that can dispel summer heat, replenish qi, promote fluid production and quench thirst.
