In this issue, follow Lao Zhang to see Heping Ancient Town, the oldest ancient town in Fujian.
Heping Ancient Town, located in Shaowu City in the northwest of Fujian Province, was founded in the Tang Dynasty. It is a unique bunker-style village with a large number of ancient buildings. It is the most distinctive ancient residential complex in China. Heping town is not only rich in ancient buildings, but also rich in folk cultural relics with high ornamental value. For example, the Nuo dance, a living fossil, the unique dragon lantern-candle bridge, and the three wonders of peace: putting fruit table, watching star tea and swimming in tofu brain, are all precious folk cultural heritage of Heping ancient town.
The biggest attraction of Heping ancient town is that it preserves the most complete ancient streets and lanes. There are two streets in the ancient castle connecting the east and west doors and the south and north doors. Roadways of different sizes crisscross the streets. Streets and lanes are paved with bluestone slabs in the middle and river pebbles on both sides, which are simple and beautiful. The street that runs through the north and south of the ancient city is called Jiushi Street, which is called "the first street in Fujian", with a total length of more than 600 meters and a width of six to eight meters. In the center of the street is a bluestone slab, which has formed a unique "nine bends and thirteen bends" because of the terrain, just like a flying dragon.
The cobblestone alleys on both sides of the ancient street are criss-crossed, long or short, wide or narrow, with high walls and narrow lanes, simple and remote. Between the alleys are rows of old houses. The ancient dwellings here not only have the ancient charm of the Central Plains, but also have local characteristics, which are rare treasures in ancient buildings. On a half-kilometer-long Qingshiban Street and a dozen cobblestone Gu Xiang, there are 200 Ming and Qing dwellings with blue bricks and tiles and carved beams and painted buildings. These houses are luxurious.
There are many ancestral temples and family temples in Heping Ancient Town, such as Qishan Temple, Zhao Temple, Liao Temple and Shiding Temple. There are Huangshiqiao Cemetery, Jukui Tower, Guangyuan Temple and other relics. Heping Ancient Town has produced more than 130 literati, and has a good reputation as the hometown of literati. The Peace Academy, which has a history of thousands of years and was founded in the late Tang Dynasty, trains Jinshi in the town. Its founder is Huangqiao, whose ancestral home is in Henan. His father came to Shaowu to be an official, took a fancy to the geomantic omen in heping town and settled here.
Huang Qiao was admitted as a scholar at the age of eighteen, and became an assistant minister of the Ministry of Industry in the late Tang Dynasty in the Five Dynasties. His greatest dream was to restore the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty, but this wish was hopeless at that time, so he returned to heping town to live in seclusion and founded the Peace Academy. Huangqiao * * * has 2 1 sons. After thousands of years of reproduction, his descendants are all over the world, with more than 40 million. Therefore, Heping ancient town has become a link between the descendants of Huang at home and abroad.
The Peace Academy was originally set up for the children of the Huang family. Since the Song Dynasty, it has become a local public school, and it has also attracted many famous historians to give lectures, such as Zhu He, a master of Neo-Confucianism. The four characters "Peace Academy" at the east gate of the Academy were inscribed by Zhu. The design of the north gate of the Academy is the most exquisite, with an official hat at the top and three doors forming a word "pin", which means to be a senior official.
Qiaolou is the most important historical relic of Heping ancient town. There are two bridges in the ancient town, the East Gate Bridge and the North Gate Bridge. Dongmen Pagoda is a three-hill resting type, with stone bars at the entrance, pebbles at the wall and stone tablets at the foot of the wall. It is the stone of "Don't carry, protect the place" in heping town, one of the "three forbidden monuments in the old city" in the town, and was established in Qing Dynasty. The North Gate Tower is also called Wuyang Tower, because it faces Wuyang Mountain, and the doorway is also made of stone, which is higher than the East Gate Cave. On both sides of the gate, there is a section of Ming city wall made of cobblestones, and the pagoda that has experienced hundreds of years of wind and rain has witnessed the long years of the ancient town.
Doctor Li, a representative of many mansions in heping town in Ming and Qing Dynasties, is located in the east gate. This mansion was Li's "one doctor and nine doctors" in the late Qing Dynasty. Built in the Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty, it was the residence of Dr. Zheng Feng, Dr. Chunjiang and Dr. Feng Zhi of Li Zhizhou, and Li Qichuan of Tongzhi of Zhou Zhili, commonly known as "Li Hengsheng", which means eternal prosperity. The brick carving of Lifu Gate House is a fine work of art that embodies taste and taste. Exquisite carving and lifelike figures. The eight-character wall is engraved with allusions in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and pictures of pine, bamboo, plum and crane. The whole house is large in scale, and it is a quadrangle-style quadrangle building with luxurious style.
In addition to Doctor Li, there are many ancient buildings in heping town, such as Li Zhai, Doctor Huang, Doctor Liao, Sangong in the Old City, and Xie's Granary. Heping town was called Heping in ancient times, and Wo represents seedlings and grain, which means flat terrain. Since ancient times, the grain has been abundant and it is a treasure trove of geomantic omen. In the Neolithic Age, the ancestors of Yue lived here. In the Tang dynasty, the population was already quite dense, and when a prosperous market was formed, there was an old street. In the Ming Dynasty, a sturdy Peace Castle was built, with eight doors, four big doors and four small ones. Most of the building materials were local pebbles, which left us with this precious ancient architectural complex.
