Word-paper furnace couplet
First, couplets:
Word paper furnace culture is deeply rooted;
Zhenhai beast has a long history.
Second, the story:
Word paper stove, a strange name for a young man, has never even heard of it on weekdays. For the elderly, some may have experienced it, but they have long forgotten it, and some only know their names but don't know their luck.
20 13, 10 In June, I accompanied several experts and scholars from Shanghai Historical Society and other units to visit Cao E's case. At the entrance of Miaolong, which is separated from Cao E by a wall, I introduced them to the niche paper stove with blue bricks facing south. The experts were very interested and stopped to watch carefully. "In the furnace, gas rises from the tripod. Wenguang. " They almost invariably read the five-character couplets and horizontal comments of the running script engraved on the paper stove. Well-informed, they all think that this historic building with profound Chinese civilization is rare in all parts of the country, and suggest that I reflect to the relevant departments that this endangered cultural relic-level building must be well protected.
Word paper stove is specially used for burning useless paper. In the old days, different types of word paper stoves were built everywhere, some like pagodas and some like pavilions; There are many names: some are called Jingzi Pavilion, Xizi Pavilion, Shengji Pavilion, Jingsheng Pavilion and Wenbi Pavilion, and some are called Huazi Furnace and Paper Burning Furnace. The word paper stove mouth is often decorated with couplets of "holy work, shooting lights and bullfighting". Word paper stove originated from the ancient folk custom of "respecting and cherishing word paper", which showed people's attention and respect for words. In ancient times, writing was closely related to orthodoxy, codes, judgments and fame. It is not surprising that ordinary "characters" are endowed with mystery and even worship.
As a folk custom, Xi Zi has a long history. "Yanjing Old Customs" said: In the old days, in order to carry out the activities of cherishing Chinese characters, people also set up the society of cherishing Chinese characters and the bureau. They make bamboo buildings and distribute them to government agencies, shops and houses for people to throw waste paper. In addition, there is a big waste paper basket, in which hired servants put on yellow vests and wrote the words "respect and cherish waste paper", carrying huge baskets on their shoulders and going to various places to get waste paper; There are also "treasure stoves" set up in schools, temples, halls, chambers of commerce and government offices. Note that burnt paper ash must be buried in soil or dumped in rivers and oceans.
In a small place like Cao E, although there is no such organization as Ci-loving Society, there is also this ancient custom of Ci-loving. Although my parents "don't know a basket of characters", from the time I can remember, I know that there is a bamboo basket (a detachable board to expand the facade) on the door panel of my house. Whenever it is full of paper, go to the paper stove in Miaolongkou to burn it. I once saw an elderly man named Ge in the village, dressed in late Qing costumes, wandering all over the street just to pick up writing paper on the ground ... My parents taught us from an early age that any written document should not be thrown, wrapped or trampled underfoot. As the saying goes, stepping on paper will make you blind in the future. There is also a story in the book: in the Song Dynasty, when Wang's father saw the scraps of paper on the ground, he would pick them up and put them away. Even if they had shit, they would be washed and dried, or thrown into clean water or burned. A few years later, one day, he suddenly saw the sage Kong come to visit, praised him for his "letter of respect", and told his disciple Zeng Shen that he was ordered to be reborn. When the son grew up, he won three yuan in succession, and the official seal was interpreted as a frenzy. Later, some note novels were unlucky because of blasphemy. What really has practical significance is that during the period of 1983, a roll of National Treasure and Yongdong Grand Ceremony was accidentally discovered in Yexian County, Shandong Province, and the blank of its head and foot was cut open by its owner, an old farmer, made into shoes and rolled into cigarettes. It is precisely because of the local tradition of "respecting words and cherishing words" that the old talents were able to preserve the words almost completely before entering Tibet.
According to the existing records, the folk custom of cherishing Chinese characters began in the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, gradually weakened after the Republic of China, and basically disappeared in the late 1950s of 19. Word paper stove, the carrier of folk culture, has also aged and disappeared with the passage of time. The word paper stove next to Cao E's injustice has no date of construction, but it must be a witness to the rise and fall of Cao E's injustice. Now, Cao E's injustice has been promoted from "provincial protection" to "national protection", and this forgotten paper stove is still 80% intact. We look forward to the rescue of relevant departments to prevent it from dying out in the sight of our times and continue to let future generations know about that long-standing cultural heritage.
