BMW F30 Engine Air Supply System Components
1 The air filter is used to filter out the dust contained in the air, thus reducing the wear of cylinder, piston, piston ring and other parts and prolonging the service life of the engine. The throttle body is a throttle component installed to regulate and control the air sucked into the engine. The throttle body is mainly composed of throttle, throttle position sensor for detecting the opening and closing state of throttle, throttle positioning potentiometer, throttle positioner (motor), throttle potentiometer and idle switch. When the car is running normally, the airflow is controlled by the throttle, and the throttle is controlled by the driver through the accelerator pedal. The function of the intake manifold is to introduce air or combustible mixture into the cylinders, so as to ensure that the intake volume of each cylinder is sufficient and uniform. The intake manifold is mostly made of aluminum alloy or cast iron, and some of them are made of composite plastic. In front of the intake manifold of some cars, there is also a surge tank (also called * * * buzzer and resonant cavity). The function of the surge tank is to eliminate the pulsation of intake pressure and ensure the uniform distribution of mixed gas in each cylinder.
