Nantong is located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, on the northeast bank of the Yangtze River estuary, bordering the Yangtze River in the west and the Yellow Sea in the east, surrounded by water on three sides, like a peninsula, facing Shanghai and Suzhou across the river, and known as the "gateway to the sea", which is the hub of north-south transportation along Jiangsu coast. Langshan Scenic Area is located on the northeast bank of the Yangtze River, 6 kilometers south of Nantong City. From the east to the west, there are five mountains: Junshan, Jianshan, Langshan, Maanshan and Huangni Mountain, which are arranged in an arc along the river, stretching for 3.6 kilometers, with a total area of 11.27 square kilometers. The five mountains have been formed for 35 million to 4 million years, including Huangni Mountain (29.3 meters), Maanshan Mountain (49.4 meters), Langshan Mountain (14.8 meters), Jianshan Mountain (8.5 meters) and Junshan Mountain (18.5 meters).
