The Historical Evolution of Bashan Town

Bashan Town has a long history. According to legend, as early as the end of the Qin Dynasty, Chu and Han contended and ended in Liu Sheng's failure. Overlord defeated, fell into Wujiang River and committed suicide. Before he died, he sang a sad song. After many twists and turns, Emma, his follower, fled to the west in grief and indignation, and came to this treasure-house of geomantic omen, so he built a temple here to worship, and the surrounding area was low and flat, while the middle hill rose from the ground, which attracted Xiang Yu's heroic chanting of "pulling the mountain out of the sky", hence the name "pulling the mountain out"

According to legend, the field was built in the Ming Dynasty, and there were only a dozen adobe houses on the street. Since then, it has developed and grown, and gradually became a traffic fortress and material distribution center for Zhong (Zhou), Liang (Ping), Dian (Jiang) and Feng (Du). More than 500 years ago, a town was built in the mountains, with seven gates outside and 13 temples inside. The gate is wrapped in iron and covered with a pavilion, which is extremely defensive. There are Confucian temples in the city (including Wantong Palace, Qisheng Palace, Dizang Palace, Douwa Palace, the Temple of Wealth, Kuixing Pavilion and Cang Xie Pavilion, which were built in the late Ming Dynasty and renovated in the 16th year of Qianlong), Shennong Temple, Machine Temple (including Kannonji and American Temple), Du Kang Temple and Wanshou Palace (including Xu Zhenjun Temple, Kannonji and the Temple of Wealth). There are many temples, many gods and one temple, which is the cultural and religious center of Zhongxian back alley. Many temples were built in the Ming Dynasty and remained until around liberation.

In the early years, Bashan Town had the idea of establishing Xinhua County. However, according to research, there is no county, only a post station, which has become a transportation post station for loyalty, beam, cushion and prosperity. In the eighth year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1730), Zhongxian built "three halls" here to handle the affairs of Zhongxian's hometown. The yamen is divided into two rooms. The civil servants live in the yamen above the Lion Dam, and the military attache lives outside Guantangba (the residence of Yang Bolun). It is said that he once lived in a deputy county magistrate, returned to his hometown at no cost after he retired, and starved to death on the streets. It can be seen that Qipin County at that time was still so poor.

In the early years of the Ming Dynasty, there were general corps and regular regiments (equivalent to township governors). In the eighteenth year of the Republic of China, districts and townships were established, and Xie was the first district head and the first township head. 1937 implements the integration of three townships, and Miaoya and Baima enter the mountains. 194 1 implement the new county system, and set up the third district office in Bashan to administer Xinli, Maguan and other towns. 1945, set up a police station in the evacuation area. During the Republic of China, the organizational system was adjusted several times. In Bashan Town,, Chen Baozhen, Yang Bolun,,, Zou Sichou, Liu, and Mo successively served as township heads. After liberation, the Bashan District Office in the fifth district of Zhongxian County was located in the original district yamen, and the first district head was Wang Shanbo. At the same time, Bashan township is also set up, and the office is located in the original township office (Yang Bolun's residence), and the district township office (or district township government) of Bashan has always been like this. Bashan Township (town) 1958 was called "Bashan People's Commune", 1983 was restored as a township, and 1985 was abandoned to build a town. Bashan township government also moved to the original Bashan district office.

February, 2003 18, Bashan Town Party Committee and government agencies moved to Dongmen Development Zone. At present, government agencies include the Party and Government Office, the Economic Development Office, the Social Affairs Office and the Work Safety Supervision Office. There are 35 administrative staff and 3 logistics staff.
