Introduction of Wanghailou Scenic Spot in Taizhou

Located in Fengcheng River Scenic Spot (4A-level scenic spot) in Taizhou in Ming Dynasty, it was built in Shaoding of Southern Song Dynasty and is known as the "first building of Jianghuai". This building has been destroyed many times, most of which were destroyed by the fire of the military, starting from the prosperous times. Today, Wanghai Building was rebuilt in 2006. The 28th Sun Jingyi of Fan Zhongyan, former director of the Foreign Languages Bureau of the Ministry of Culture, editor-in-chief of Economic Daily, editor-in-chief of People's Daily, vice chairman of the Education, Culture and Health Committee of the National People's Congress, wrote the story of rebuilding Wanghai Building. Taizhou was called Hailing in ancient times, but now the sea has receded, and the name of "looking at the sea" still exists.

In the 28th year of Jiajing (1549), Zhou Shoubaolong rebuilt the Wanghai Building, which was destroyed by fire, and called it "Wangyang Building". In the thirty-first year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1603), Wanghai Tower collapsed again, but the site remained. During the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, it was rebuilt and called Jinghai Building and Mingfeng Building. Locals like to call it Wanghailou, known as the first floor of Jianghuai. During the period of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, when the city wall was demolished, this famous building, which was regarded as "the lifeblood of cultural transportation" by the ancients, was demolished.
