What are the simple observation measures for debris flow?

(1) Debris flow is observed through normal flood water level line. On the basis of debris flow investigation and hazard zoning, the flood grade is judged by understanding the local weather forecast information and actually observing the water flow formed by heavy rain in the valley. Normal flood level can be determined by vegetation growth or ant nest distribution. When the flood water level line is close to the normal flood water level line and the rainstorm continues, people must be sent to the scene to watch.

Test and take necessary evasive measures. If the debris flow carried by flood increases or is interrupted intermittently, we should pay attention to the possibility of debris flow. For the valley with frequent debris flow, the occurrence of debris flow disaster can be judged by debris flow mud line. When the water level line of mountain torrents and debris flows is close to the normal mud water level line and the rainstorm continues, personnel avoidance measures must be taken.

(2) During the rainstorm, the upstream debris flow source area should be inspected and guarded. Patrol and guard villages, residential areas, factories and mines, and even landslides, collapses, deposits, tailings, slag yards and engineering waste soil on steep slopes with thick soil layers and good vegetation. When more materials are found to be carried by floods, measures should be taken in time to avoid disasters.
