Where is the Lushan Giant Buddha?

Lushan Giant Buddha is located at the foot of Lushan Mountain, Wenquan Town, Lushan City, Jiangxi Province, China.

Lushan Giant Buddha, namely Lindong Giant Buddha, is a symbol of the birthplace of Pure Land Sect and the highest statue of Amitabha in China and even the world.

Lindong Giant Buddha is centered on the 48-meter-long bronze statue of Amitabha Buddha, and its components include the Pure Land Cultural District, the New Torin Temple, the Bhikuni Courtyard, the Hermit Cultural District, the Anyang District, the Haihuitang Temple Temple, the Dade Jingshe District and other buildings with the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty, which are arranged along the central axis, showing the classic architectural spatial organization form of the ancient holy mountain buildings in China. The main buildings of the central axis are unfolded in turn, and the architectural space is open and closed in an orderly manner, ups and downs.

The Buddha statue is located in mid-air. Climbing stairs usually starts from flying across the Hongqiao and overlooking the platform, forming a spatial sequence of Buddha worship with open and closed horizons, ups and downs and relaxation, which gradually presents the mystery, compassion and solemnity of Amitabha Buddha to believers.

The overall shape of Lindong Giant Buddha has absorbed the advantages of Lushena Giant Buddha in Longmen Grottoes, Dunhuang Giant Buddha, Kamakura Giant Buddha in Japan, ancient India and Buddha statues in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and strived to achieve the highest level of combining religious spirit with sculpture art (the draft has been revised more than 20 times since childhood).

The image of the giant Buddha is connected. With its majestic body, it shows Amitabha's broad and generous mind like a loving father, and with a compassionate expression, it shows Amitabha's endless love for all beings like a loving mother. The height is 48 meters, and the base is a lotus platform with 48 petals, which shows the 48 wishes made by Amitabha to save all beings. The soon-to-be-born Lindong Buddha statue will become the highest level of religious art in contemporary times.

In order to show sincere respect for the Buddha statue, the Lindong Monk Group decided to build a treasure cover for the Buddha statue, which can shelter it from the wind and rain. The design and construction of the treasure cover also provided conditions for the gold plating of Buddha statues. Amitabha's body is golden, and his lover is extremely bright. At the same time, the Guanyin Bodhisattva and the Great Trend Bodhisattva are depicted on the wall of the treasure cover of about 2,000 square meters, showing the grand occasion of three saints and western saints coming to receive the quotation. With the sound and photoelectric effect, the scene of Amitabha receiving the quotation is more magnificent.
