Introduction of Xiong Wencan
At the end of Yuan Dynasty, the Red Scarf Army uprising led by Liu Futong overthrew most of China, and the war disaster lasted for many years, especially in Jiangxi. Therefore, in Jiangxi, people with 18 surnames Xiong collectively fled to Sichuan, Guihua, Longchang, Rongchang, Nanchong, Ya 'an, Jiading, Yongning and other places to escape the war. After settling down, the Xiong family in Yongning, Guihua, bought land and built houses in Dongcheng, ran a business and lived a normal life. His family learned that there was a treasure trove of geomantic omen in the excavated mountain, so they invited a clever master of Yin and Yang to take a compass up the mountain to measure the acupoints of several Shouzhong tombs, and bought them at a high price as Xiong's cemeteries where ancestors had been buried for generations. In the past few decades, the Xiong family, which originally took business as its top priority, actually began to pay attention to the education of children's reading and writing. His family invited the most learned teacher in the local area to teach the bear children. During the one hundred years from Wanli to Wanli, the Xiongshi family produced several literati and friends, so the Xiongshi family was also a scholarly family in the local area. In the thirty-fifth year of Wanli, gifted Xiong Wencan was admitted to Gongkao High School in Beijing. This is a great event for Xiong Jia and Xiangzi. Jinshi is an official qualification certificate and the first step of officialdom. Scholars with talent, ability and opportunities can be governors and governors of government officials, or ministers and prime ministers of the cabinet in the future.
Xiong Wencan appointed Huangzhou as an official shortly after he entered the Jinshi, and later he was transferred to the post of Director of Ritual Department, Shanxi Zuozheng, Shanxi Provincial Judge, and Shandong Right Ambassador. In the winter of the forty-second year of Wanli, he was appointed as the left ambassador of Fujian, and he deliberately detoured back to his hometown, with great intention of returning home in honor of his ancestors. Back to Xuyong, it coincides with the completion of the newly-built Penglai Bridge (now Shangqiao) in the city. At the request of the county magistrate Zhou, he gladly wrote an inscription to build Penglai Bridge. When Xiong Wencan took office in Fujian in the first year of Chongzhen, he implemented the strategy of wooing local armed forces, successively wooing Zheng Zhilong and others (the father), and then relying on local armed forces, he wiped out pirates who had been rampant for many years in one fell swoop. Meanwhile, he also had the idea of recovering Taiwan Province Province, but it was not realized because he was transferred from Fujian. The disappearance of bandits at sea has benefited the coastal people a lot. Due to Xiong Wencan's outstanding achievements during his tenure in Fujian, Chongzhen was promoted to assistant minister of the Ministry of War and right ambassador in February of five years, and served as the military affairs minister and governor of Guangdong and Guangxi. In April of the tenth year of Chongzhen, he was promoted to the post of Minister of War and served as the right assistant. At the same time, he served as military prime minister in Zhili, Shanxi, Henan, Shaanxi, Huguang and Sichuan provinces. Responsible for pacifying the so-called "Thirteen Peasant Insurgents" headed by Li Zicheng and Zhang. In the struggle against peasant rebels, he still adopted the strategy of wooing peasant rebels and achieved great success in Fujian. In October of the tenth year of Chongzhen, Zhang and Liu Guoneng were appealed to surrender Luo Rucai and Zuo Geli successively, and all the twelve peasant insurgents except Li Zicheng surrendered. In February of the twelfth year of Chongzhen, Zhang took the lead in rebellion, and then raised the banner of righteousness. Luo Rucai and other departments responded one after another in various places. At that time, the ruling and opposition parties shook, and Emperor Chongzhen was furious, so he cut Xiong Wencan's official position and ordered him to plead guilty. In July, Zhang defeated Zuo Liangyu, the company commander of the Ming army in Luoying Mountain. Emperor Chongzhen ordered Yang Sichang to rescue the Olympic bid, and at the same time arrested and imprisoned Xiong Wencan. The following year (1640), he was beheaded in Xicheng Beijing at the age of 67.
Throughout Xiong Wencan's life, from thirty-five years of Wanli to thirteen years of Chongzhen, he was promoted repeatedly after thirty-three years of three dynasties. From the promotion of officials to the inspection, deployment, governor, assistant minister, minister and other positions, it can be said that the official career is prosperous. Starting with the success of Zhao Fu Zheng Zhilong and ending with the failure of Zhao Fu Zhang, it is a success and the failure of Xiao He and Xiao He.
Just when Xiong Wencan's officialdom was in full swing, there came a new magistrate in Yongning County, named Wu Ren, a native of Huiji, Zhejiang Province, who was born as a scholar. After he arrived, he visited the local gentry one by one according to the rules. Xiong Wencan's father, Mr. Xiong, naturally took the lead in setting an example, aiming to win over local forces and make himself more cared for by the gentry during his tenure. August 16 this year is the eightieth birthday of old Xiong Man. Yongning, celebrities from the East and the West, and gentry and literati from Bali and Sixiang all came to Xiongfu to celebrate his birthday. Inside and outside the Xiongfu, lanterns are decorated, and Shoulian, Shoubian, Shoucai and Shouyi are resplendent. There were more than 200 tables of birthday banquets in the nearby emperor's main palace, and the scene was very lively. However, when the birthday ceremony was held, the local parents were not present, which added a lot of color to the grand and warm birthday celebration and made the Xiong family feel very embarrassed. It turned out that Wuxian made a gold-lettered red lacquer plaque with the title "Life and Heaven" to Xiong's father and went to the countryside to investigate a murder case with his master. When business comes back, it's time to end the banquet. Although Wu Ren went to Xiongfu to explain his apology, Xiongjia was still miserable. Xiong Wencan has a younger brother named Wen Bing. Because of his son, he was especially loved by Mr. Xiong when he was young. Therefore, he has developed the habit of arrogance and extravagance since he was a child. He doesn't read poetry books or do business. He fights and sings with a group of dude in the county all day, and is called a bear. He was angry that Wu Ren couldn't come to celebrate his father's birthday and threatened to find an opportunity to teach Wu Ren a lesson. Soon, he set up an impossible theft case in Xiongfu, and then reported it to the official, asking the thief to recover the property. A few months later, the theft case was still unsolved. Xiong Er rallied a group of local ruffians, local ruffians and members of the Xiongshi clan, went to court, and uttered harsh words, which made Wu County magistrate extremely embarrassed. Wu Ren felt humiliated and resentful. So, he quietly sent his confidants out to find a master of Feng Shui theory, Mr. Yin and Yang, and paid him a large sum of money to secretly survey Xiong Jia's ancestral graves. After the division of Yin and Yang came to Yongning, in order to find out the source of Xiongjialong vein, it first went to Xiazifeng, then to Luohanlin, and finally traced back to Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in Long Mai. It took half a month to find out the power source of Xiong Jia's ancestral grave. On his return, he said to Wu Xianling, "Xiongjiafen Mountain is the remnant vein of Wumeng Mountain in Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and its main vein is at the junction of Weining in Guizhou and Xuanwei in Yunnan. One of them was inserted by Hezhang into Zhenxiong and Weixin in Yunnan, extending to Luohanlin in Yongning, Sichuan, and then to Xiongjiazufen Mountain under Xiazifeng. It embodies the essence of Wanshan and occupies the aura of mountains and rivers. It is the main glory of the five generations. " Hearing this, Wu Xianling eyes vacant, face heavy, suddenly discouraged. Mr. Yin and Yang quickly said, "Don't worry, everything in the world has the law of resistance, and any problem has a solution. As long as you dig a ditch on the ridge nine feet above Xiong's ancestral grave, you can cut off his Long Mai, and Xiong's family will be finished. " Wu Xianling smiled after hearing this, so he mobilized farmers to dig up the ridge on Xiongjia ancestral grave on the grounds of digging ditches to divert water to irrigate dry fields.
It is said that the day when the ditch was flooded was when Xiong Wencan went to prison. Wuxian made it clear that his resentment had been reported, so he hung up the seal and left, hence the name "Digging the Mountain", which has been passed down to this day.
