Because the pronunciation is almost the same, "Escape Island" has been called "Peach Blossom Island" for a long time.
There is a stone spring with clear and sweet water. Drinking the water can cure diseases and prolong life, so it is known as the divine water spring. The "Peach Blossom Island Divine Water Spring" engraved on the spring monument was written by the calligrapher Mr. Xin Yuexiu. It is said that the Eight Immortals gained enlightenment and traveled around the world, met on Peach Blossom Island, and drank from this spring when they crossed the sea to Yaochi to celebrate the birthday of the Queen Mother. There is a poem: There are many legends on Peach Blossom Island, and there is even one lying on Shiquan Island. The Eight Immortals drank freely and crossed the sea, and the reputation of the divine spring spread far and wide.
There are many broken porcelain fragments scattered on Peach Blossom Island. It can be identified from the porcelain pieces picked up that these porcelains were fired during the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty, more than 500 years ago. According to research, most of the porcelain from the south at that time was transported to Tianjin Wei Wharf by sea. In the past, navigation and navigation equipment was poor. Now every year during high tides, broken pieces of porcelain are often washed up on the island.
