Kaiping Temple was built in the fourth year of the Five Dynasties Liang Kaiping (AD 9 10). Formerly known as Xian Guo Yuan, it was changed to a temple in Yuan Dynasty, history 1093. According to legend, Hui Yuan, a monk from Fayun Temple in Nanping, took a dog for an outing. When the dog ran to the present position of Kaiping Temple, it stopped walking. Huiyuan was very surprised. After Hui Yuan's investigation, he found it beautiful and a treasure trove of geomantic omen, so he founded Kaiping Temple. Kaiping Temple sits northwest facing southeast, and its central axis runs from southeast to northwest. The temple is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with the left mountain high and the right mountain low. The mountains are as high as the old saying goes, and I am afraid that the white tiger will look up.
