History of Putuo Temple

Putuo Temple was founded in the late Ming Dynasty during the Chongzhen period (about 1643), which originated from the legend of "sending rice safely" in the Three Filial Pieties. Shaozong Temple was rebuilt in the spring of 19 10 by Master Christina, abbot of Chongqing Luohan Temple, and renamed Putuo Temple.
