Origin of Tianjinwei's name
"Wei" was a military establishment in the Ming Dynasty, which was under the command of commanders and was directly subordinate to the governor's office of the later army. There are 5,6 soldiers per guard and 16,8 Tianjin Three Guards.
Although the organizational system of Wei has no administrative authority, it has a certain amount of land (castles and wasteland reclamation), a large number of people (soldiers and military families in wasteland reclamation) and political affairs (military and political affairs and wasteland reclamation). With the increase of population, the development of business, numerous affairs and disputes, the health center can no longer manage this commercial city with mixed military and civilian. The Ming court set up officials, offices and schools in Tianjin one after another, or moved foreign officials and offices to Tianjin as directors.
In the second year of Ming Jianwen (14), Zhu Di, the prince of Yan, crossed the Grand Canal here to fight for the throne. After Zhu Di became emperor, in order to commemorate the "Battle of Jingnan", he renamed this place Tianjin on November 21, the second year of Yongle, which means the ferry that the son of heaven passed through. As a military location, Tianjin began to build a city and set up a garrison in the area of Little zhi gu in the southwest of Sancha Estuary, which opened a new page in Tianjin's urban development. Later, Tianjin left-back and Tianjin right-back were added.
in the ninth year of Shunzhi in Qing dynasty (1652), Tianjinwei, Tianjin Zuowei and Tianjin Youwei Sanwei were merged into Tianjinwei, and civil affairs, salt transportation, taxation and military affairs were established. In the third year of Yongzheng (1725), Tianjinwei was promoted to Tianjin. In the ninth year of Yongzheng (1731), Tianjin was promoted to Tianjin Prefecture, which governed six counties and one state.
