How to prevent mastitis?

Mastitis is an inflammatory disease caused by pathogenic microorganisms invading the breast. Mainly due to the infection and inflammation caused by the sagging abdomen of sows scratching their breasts on rough ground, or the infection and inflammation caused by damp pigsty and cold weather, as well as the nipple biting of piglets. In addition, sows are suddenly fed a lot of juicy or fermented feed before and after delivery, and excessive milk secretion accumulates in the breast, which is also easy to cause mastitis.

(1) Pigs with symptoms often have swelling and pain in one or more breasts. When the piglet was breastfeeding, the sow suddenly stood up and wouldn't let the piglet breastfeed. The milk is as thin as water, and there are flocs in the milk, sometimes yellow or yellowish flocs, sometimes red, mixed with pus.

(2) Prevention and control: It is mainly to strengthen feeding management, keep the barns and utensils clean and sanitary, and replace clean bedding grass in time. At the same time, breast trauma should be prevented, and if there is trauma, it should be handled in time. Female animals should be raised separately after delivery to avoid the breasts being squeezed and touched.

Treatment: clearing away heat and toxic materials, reducing swelling and removing blood stasis. ① External use: suitable for the early and middle stages of onset. At the beginning, lead acetate anti-inflammatory powder can be used externally, and 2 ~ 3 days after onset, clean towel can be soaked in 40 ~ 50℃ 10% magnesium sulfate solution for hot compress. ② breast washing: inject heated 0. 1% rivanol solution from nipple into breast with syringe, inject 200ml into each nipple, massage slightly after injection, after 0.5 ~ 1h, squeeze out all the liquid medicine and sick milk, and then dissolve them in 1 10,000 units of streptomycin and 1 10,000 units of penicillin.
