Where is Linhai?

Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province, hailin city is a county-level city, located in the southeast of Heilongjiang Province, which belongs to mountainous and hilly areas, 29 kilometers away from Harbin, the provincial capital, and only 12 kilometers away from Mudanjiang City. The landform is characterized by "nine mountains, half water and half fields". The total administrative area of hailin city is 8,817 square kilometers, and the total cultivated land area is 667, mu. It governs 8 towns (Hainan Township has been transferred to Mudanjiang City) and 123 administrative villages. The total population is 422, (212), of which non-agricultural population accounts for 55.4%. The urban area is 22 square kilometers (including the development zone) with a population of 15,. There are 19 ethnic minorities, including Korea, Manchu, Hui and Mongolia, accounting for 12.5% of the total population, of which Koreans account for 8%.

The sea wave riverside is one of the cradles of Manchu culture, and it is the headquarters and residence of general Qingning Ancient Pagoda. There are 16 historical sites since Shang and Zhou Dynasties, and Jinyuan culture, Bohai culture and Ningguta Liuren culture, which are known as the three historical and cultural highlights of Heilongjiang, have left their marks in Hailin.

Hailin is known as "Linhai Snowfield", "Snow Town of China", "Tiger Town of China" and "Hometown of Hericium erinaceus in China", and has won the titles of National Sustainable Development Experimental Zone, Pilot City of Sustainable City Plan of UN-Habitat, Charming City with China Characteristics, Excellent Tourism City of China and National Garden City.

Hailin has been inhabited and multiplied by human beings since the late Paleolithic period. It was the territory of the Central Plains in the Shang and Zhou Dynasties and paid tribute to the Central Plains. According to data and documents, during the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, precious items such as crossbows, minks and Haidongqing were paid tribute to the Central Plains. Since the Han and Jin Dynasties, although most of them have been autonomous by indigenous peoples, they have been conferred titles by the Central Plains. In the Han Dynasty, a county was established, in the Tang and Song Dynasties, the Wei and He Department was established in the Ming Dynasty, and the viceroy was established after the middle of the Ming Dynasty, all of which were conferred titles by the Central Plains Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, when Manchu came to the Central Plains, there were yamen, such as Angbang Zhangjing and General Ningguta, which became the military and political center of the vast territory of Heilongjiang River Basin and Sakhalin Island, north of the East Hailin

hailin city, formerly known as Hailin County, was named after Xinhai County and WuErh Lin County merged, each taking the last word of the original county name. In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the jurisdiction of Ningguta. In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Ning 'an Prefecture and Ning 'an County. After the victory of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in 1945, on August 15th, 1946, Xin 'an Town, Hailin, Hengdaohezi, Shanshi and other areas in the north of Ning 'an County were set aside to set up Xinhai County, and the county government was stationed in Hailin. Initially transferred to Suining province, later transferred to Mudanjiang area, Mudanjiang province, and then transferred to Songjiang province. On October 4, 1948, the Songjiang provincial government decided to merge Wulin County and Xinhai County into Hailin County. The county government was located in Mudanjiang City and was directly under the jurisdiction of Songjiang Province. In August 1954, after the merger of Songsong and Heilongjiang provinces, it was directly under the jurisdiction of Heilongjiang Province.

On March 6th, 1956, the State Council decided to cancel Hailin County, and the original Hailin County belonged to Ning 'an County, linkou county City and Mudanjiang City respectively. On October 2, 1962, the State Council decided to restore Hailin County, and seven towns of Hailin, Hengdaohezi, Changting, Hainan, Shihe, Xin 'an and Jiujie, which were allocated to Ning 'an County, and three towns of Chaihe, Erdaohezi and Sandaohezi, which were allocated to linkou county by Hailin County, were designated as administrative areas of Hailin County. County People's Committee is located in Hailin Town and is under the jurisdiction of Mudanjiang District. On September 3, 1983, Mudanjiang area was revoked and placed under the leadership of Mudanjiang City.
