The legend of the dragon

For thousands of years, dragons have penetrated into all aspects of China society and become a kind of cultural cohesion and accumulation. The dragon has become a symbol of China, the Chinese nation and China culture. For every Chinese descendant, the image of the dragon is a symbol, a mood, and a feeling of flesh and blood! . The names "Descendants of the Dragon" and "Descendants of the Dragon" often make us excited, energetic and proud. Besides spreading and inheriting in China, Dragon Culture has also been brought to all parts of the world by overseas Chinese. In China residential areas or in China, dragons are still the most eye-catching decorations. Therefore, "Descendants of the Dragon" and "Dragon Country" have also been recognized by the world.

The legend of the dragon-the dragon king;

Dragon is one of the four gods in ancient China mythology. There are "Dragon King Products" in Taishang Cave's Divine Mantra Classic, which lists "Five Emperors Dragon King" by orientation, "Four Seas Dragon King" by ocean, 54 dragon king names and 62 dragon king names by everything in the world. During the reign of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, the Dragon Pool in the temple was called and an altar official was set up to worship the Dragon King. Song Taizu followed the Five Dragon Sacrifice System in Tang Dynasty. In the second year of Song Huizong Daguan (1 108), all the five dragons in the world were awarded titles. Seal Qinglong God as King of Ren Guang, Red Dragon God as King Jiaze, Huanglong God as King Fu Ying, White Dragon God as King Yiji, and Black Dragon God as King Lingze. In the second year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1863), the dragon god of the canal was named "the god of the dragon king who should divide the water", so that the river chief could pay homage at the right time. The Dragon Kings in Journey to the West are Ao Guang in the East China Sea, Aoqin in the West Sea, Aorun in the South China Sea and Aoshun in the North Sea, which are collectively called the Four Seas Dragon Kings.

Dragon Legend-Dragon Ball;

People often see "dragon playing with beads" (such as "single dragon playing with beads" and "double dragon playing with beads") on architectural colorful paintings, sculptures, clothing embroidery and other carriers. A friend asked: What is the "Dragon Ball"? Where did the "Dragon Ball" come from? What about "dragon playing with pearls"?

Dragon balls are related to dragons. "The pearl of a thousand dollars must be under the dragon's jaw of the nine abyss." That's what Zhuangzi said. "Yaya" also said that "the dragon ball is in the jaw". Strange Tales says: "Where there is a dragon ball, the dragon will spit it out ... The Vietnamese proverb says,' It is better to plant a dragon ball than to plant a thousand mu of wooden slaves. "The above statement has two meanings: first, the dragon ball is often hidden in the dragon's mouth, and at the right time, the dragon will spit it out; Second, the value of the Dragon Ball is very high. In the folk proverb, it is better to plant a thousand acres of citrus than to get a dragon ball.

So, where did the Dragon Ball come from? Why do dragons play with pearls? As we know, pearls are some mollusks in the water. Under certain external conditions, their shells are endocrine and form round particles, which are popular because of their bright luster, so they are called pearls. Since animals in the water can give birth to pearls, as the dragon of the aquarium, it is natural to have pearls and give birth to jujubes, which should be a basic idea of the Dragon Ball myth.

However, it seems that things are not that simple. Dragons are vaguely assembled creatures in mythology, and the objects of assembly are fish, crocodiles, snakes, pigs, horses, cows, lightning, clouds, rainbows and so on. Among them, crocodiles and snakes lay eggs. Eggs are round or granular, much larger than pearls. Then, will the ancients regard crocodile eggs and snake eggs as a kind of "bead"? The answer is yes. The ancients could mainly collect crocodiles and snakes, and naturally they would not ignore their eggs; For crocodiles and snakes, eggs are of great significance and the source of life. If there are eggs, there will be crocodiles, snakes and then dragons. So eggs can completely enter the dragon's life as "beads". Then, the dragon ball is the dragon egg; Playing with pearls is actually an "egg" played by dragons, a sacred object of dragons, and a care, caress and respect for life. Among them, it embodies and expresses a kind of "life consciousness" of the ancients, that is, the understanding, understanding and exertion of endless life phenomena.

The folk legend of swallowing pearls and turning dragons provides a footnote for our point of view: a teenager mows grass (or draws water), gets a treasure pearl, puts it in a rice jar to increase rice, and puts it in a till to make money. When a rich man found out, he brought people to rob pearls. The teenager put the beads in his mouth in a hurry, but accidentally swallowed them. So I longed for water, and when the water in the jar dried up, I went to drink river water, river water. Drinking and drinking, his head has horns, his eyes protrude outward, and his body has scales, turning into a dragon. Such legends are widely circulated in Sichuan, Zhejiang, Guangdong and other places, revealing the preciousness of "pearls" and the relationship between pearls and dragon life.

The sun is another understanding of "pearl". Some dragon-playing bead patterns we have seen, especially two dragon-playing bead patterns, mostly have flames rising, which are clearly a "fire bead" or a "fireball"; Below is the turbulent sea, which can be understood as a fireball jumping out of the sea. In people's vision and concept, it can be called "fireball", and the sun can rank first. So, obviously, the fireball went out to sea, which means the sun went out to sea. Now that the sun is out to sea, why should dragons "play"? Here we would like to introduce the four gods in the eyes of the ancients: Oriental Dragon, Western White Tiger, Southern Suzaku and Northern Xuanwu. The sun rises in the east, and the dragon is a sacred object representing the east. In this way, dragon playing with beads is the sun worship, which is the fusion of sun worship and dragon worship.

Dragons are divided into male and female, which is also the reason why Erlong plays with more bead patterns. If pearls lay eggs, it shows that both parents care and care for their children together; If the pearl is the solution of the sun, it means that the male and female dragons welcome the rising sun and let the bright sunshine shine on the earth. Furthermore, the two dragons are symmetrical, the dragons are long, the beads are round and smooth, and there is also a sense of composition.

The legend of the dragon-Oolong;

There are only a dozen families in Longtan Fort under Shaohua Mountain. There are two people living in the village: a father and a daughter named Liu, who make a living by selling tofu. My daughter is a pearl phoenix. She looks beautiful and handsome. One day, Zhu Feng went to fetch water and caught a little black snake. She caught the little black snake, put it on the well platform and said, "Poor thing, let it go!" " "The little black snake nodded to her, turned and ran into the well.

Zhu Fenggang came into the room carrying water when she heard someone calling her from behind. Turning around, I saw a beautiful young man in his twenties. The young man grabbed Zhu Feng's hand and put a round bead in her hand. He said, "I am the fifth prince of the Weihe Dragon King. Just playing in Longtan, I accidentally bumped into your hook and broke free. Thanks for saving my life. This is a dragon ball. If you put it in a water tank, you don't have to carry water every day. If you have any difficulties in the future, just tell me. " Say that finish, suddenly disappeared. Zhu Feng chased out the door, only to see a white mist at the wellhead, and heard the well water rushing a few times. She felt as if she were in a dream, looking at her hand, which was obviously a treasure. After entering the room, she threw the dragon ball into the water tank. Wow, the water splashed everywhere, and the tank was full of clear water. It's sweeter than well water. Zhu Feng knew it was a treasure. She didn't tell anyone, even her parents. I just often think of Oolong, and go to the well every day to pick a handful of water and secretly look into the well.

In Sunjiabao, four or five miles away from Longtan Fort, there lived a rich family, Yin Lixian. When his mother died, Liu Laohan had no money for burial, so he borrowed 12 silver from Yin. Life is poor and I can't afford it, but I often send some tofu to Yin's family, and I should pay the interest. These twelve books are not hurried, and I am happy to eat tofu all year round without spending money.

Miss Zhu Feng is one year older, and the worse she falls. Yin Lixian cunning turned around, playing the Zhu Feng idea. First, I hired a glib matchmaker to give Zhu Feng a bride price. Liu Laohan refused, but Zhu Feng was strong-willed. She raised the gift box and threw it outside the door, and the matchmaker ate a rebuff.

When Yin knew this, he rolled his eyes in anger and scolded, "This old thing is shameless. He has owed ten taels of silver for more than ten years. Hum! Even if you pay one hundred and twenty pieces of silver with interest, you can't pay anything in three days! " He squinted and sneered: "Call Miss Zhu Feng to pay the bill!" When the words reached Liu Laohan's ears, he didn't have an idea. Zhu Feng just crawled on the edge of the kang and cried, but she couldn't get over it. "She fell asleep in the middle of the night and ran to the drilling platform. She gritted her teeth and shouted sideways, "mom, I'll go with you!" "As soon as you close your eyes, you jump into the well.

Zhu Feng only felt dizzy, like walking on clouds. Suddenly I heard someone shouting in my ear: "Zhu Feng, sister Zhu Feng!" " I slowly opened my eyes and saw that I didn't fall into the water, but lay on Oolong's arm. "Brother Oolong!" Like seeing relatives, she threw herself into Oolong's arms and burst into tears. Oolong advised her, "Zhu Feng, I know everything about you. Don't be sad. Dogs are rich and cruel. God bless. Watch me clean up this old dog. " ... I'll take you home! "Zhu Feng refused, he whispered in her ear, said, tears streaming down her face, nodding.

I heard that Zhu Feng jumped into a well and the villagers went down with torches to save people. Oolong saw someone coming down and whispered to Zhu Feng, "Good sister, I won't see you off." Hold Zhu Feng up with both hands. The person who went down the well touched Zhu Feng, tied a rope and saved her.

In the dead of night, Zhu Feng told her father about her and Oolong from beginning to end. The old man was secretly surprised, but dubious. Zhu Feng fished out the dragon ball from the urn. When the old man saw that it was not a common thing, he believed Zhu Feng's words. The news that Zhu Feng jumped into a well and was rescued reached Yin Lixian's ears. The old thief smiled cunningly and smoothed his moustache: "Hey, it's obviously sunny. I'm Yin, with a well-off family and a box full of gold and silver. Really ... Ah, hey ... "I took one look and ordered the servants to prepare separately. Early the next morning, the old thief ran to Zhu Feng's house with a group of servants. On the way, a gust of wind blew away the sand and gravel, and the bride price brought by it had already been blown away. The thief Yin Lianren and his horse fell to the ground. After the gale, the old thief saw that the bride price was empty and everyone was there, so he rubbed his crooked nose, took a bunch of servants, waved a stick and went straight to Liu Laohan's house to grab the Pearl Phoenix.

Oolong saw the old thief do three things, but he still didn't know how to change it. The old thief rushed to the well platform and showed his true colors, with a dragon ball and a clear spring in his mouth. At that time, there was lightning and thunder, and the waves were huge. Yin thieves cried and cried, rolled with the waves, and were washed into the Weishui River to feed the fish and turtles. After a while, the dark clouds cleared and the sky was full of sunshine. A black dragon is dancing in the clouds, and Miss Zhu Feng is sitting on its back. Flying to the top of the mountain, Oolong lay down to rest, and Zhu Feng waved goodbye to his father and villagers.

From then on, people called this village Longquan Village, and later changed it to Longtanbao. The mountain where the dragon rests is also named Wulong Mountain Scenic Resort, which has long been called Wulong Mountain Scenic Resort Scenic Area.

The legend of the dragon-louver dragon;

A long time ago, there lived a hardworking and kind young couple by the Tiaoxi River in northern Zhejiang. My wife was pregnant for one year and gave birth to a freak, like a human being, like a snake instead of a snake.

The old patriarch flew into a rage when he knew it, insisting that it was an ominous sign, forcing the couple to lock the baby immediately. The couple couldn't bear it, gritted their teeth and asked the man to pick up the footbath and pour the baby into the lotus pond in front of the door.

A few days later, my wife got out of bed and went to the lotus pond to wash rice. Suddenly, she saw her son swim from lotus to Shibu, begging for milk from his mother. Mother has always loved her son, so she picked him up and fed him. In this way, she washed and fed him three times a day. One day, two days, after 360 days, my son grew up gradually, but he showed the appearance of a dragon

The news reached the ears of the old family again. He knew that this freak had grown up instead of being stuck. He was very angry, so he came up with a deadly trap to kill it.

One day at noon, the old man hid a firewood knife beside him and secretly hid it in the trees by the pool. When the woman was washing rice, she saw a little dragon swimming ashore to beg for milk.

When the old man saw the knife, he cut it down, and Xiaolong quickly jumped into the lotus pond. But it was too late, and this knife cut off the tail of Xiaolong, and it was instantly bloody. There happened to be a beautiful big butterfly parked in the pool. When the butterfly saw the little dragon suffering for no reason and losing its tail, it was very sympathetic. It immediately flew over and connected its tail with its own body, thus becoming a beautiful dragon tail.

Just then, the wind blew, dark clouds rolled and lotus petals flew in the pool. The dragon suddenly grew to more than ten feet long, jumped out of the pool, filled with lotus petals, and flew straight into the sky.

Seeing this momentum, the old man fainted and died. Xiaolong's mother saw her son flying in the clouds and called Xiaolong three times with tears in her eyes, but Xiaolong had already flown without a trace.

Since then, whenever there is drought on both sides of Tiaoxi River, Xiaolong will fly to beg for rain and let the villagers get a bumper harvest. In order to thank it, people in Changxing area made lotus petals and butterfly dragon's tail with colorful cloth, and made the famous "Louvre Dragon" in Changxing. Every Spring Festival, people dance dragons to commemorate and celebrate.

The legend of the dragon-Jiro chasing the dragon;

(Guangyuan County) and 20 Li declared posts for the gods, that is, ancient posts. According to legend, the marquis of Wu was stationed here. ..... God announced the post, handed down from generation to generation Erlang God chased the dragon with a sword, hence the name. (Ming, * "Shu Scenic Spots" Volume 24)

Jiro, Li Bingzi. "Zhuzi Lei Yu" Volume III: "Erlang Temple at Shuguan Pass was built because Li Bing dug a pile. There are many ghosts now, but he is his second son ... "(According to Li Bing's name" Jiro ",it has appeared in this book. There are no words about Erlang God in ancient books, only in the accounts of neighbors. Dujiangyan Gongzhuan says, "Erlang is Li, and he likes to hunt and chop jiaozi with his seven friends. Pretend to be a beautiful woman, get married and go to the temple to persuade her to drink. " It is also recorded in Volume 5 of Guan He and his son's Record of Water Control. There are many myths about Jiro among modern people. Here's an example: the Qin Dynasty suffered from Shu, the king of Qin ordered Li Bing to guard Shu county, and Jiro also went to Shu with his father. When there were many floods in Shu, Jiro was ordered by his father to find the source of the flood and try to cure it. Jiro waded through mountains and rivers, from autumn to winter, from winter to spring, and there was no news. One day when I entered the mountain, I met a tiger. Jiro shot the tiger to death and then cut off its head. Seven hunters came out, and Jiro looked up to show them. All seven were surprised. I asked for a joint investigation of the flood, and Jiro agreed. Then they went to a river near Guanxian County and heard the crying in the hut. It was the old woman who mourned that her little grandson had to sacrifice to the dragon monster, only to know that the flood was caused by Si Er. So he took seven people to the White House. Bing told him how to catch dragons, and everyone followed the plan. On Memorial Day, Jiro took a three-pointed double-edged knife and went into Jiangmiao with seven friends. After a while, the dragon braved the wind and rain to enter the temple to seize the sacrifice. Jiro led seven friends out to fight the dragon, and the dragon ran out of the temple. The four mountains are full of gongs and drums, and the voices are like a tide. The dragon is afraid of entering the water, and Jiro and his seven friends also enter the water; When dragons go ashore, they all go ashore, so we catch evil dragons. Jiro was tired of fighting with his seven friends, so he temporarily rested under the king's hand and put the dragon in the river. There is a dragon cave in the river, which leads to the bed state river, and the dragon waits for an opportunity to escape. Jiro put a three-pointed double-edged knife on the river and put his ear close to the handle to listen. He was surprised and said, "The dragon has escaped!" However, he and his seven friends hurried to find the dragon, and finally they were captured in Tongziyan, Xinjin County. When he returned to the king, he met his grandmother who was crying in the hut the day before yesterday and came to thank her with a chain. Jiro used this chain to lock the dragon, tied it to the deep pool under the pillar of Fulongguan, and there was no flood after that. (China dictionary of myths and legends)

The legend of dragons-evil dragons and sick dragons;

Chen Geng and the Year of the Loong in the lunar calendar met in the year 2000, which was only once in 3,000 years. Therefore, this "dragon" has become a particularly rare "Millennium Dragon". Entrepreneurs and intellectuals are making a fuss about "dragons". Generally speaking, dragons are good, but not good. How can we compare our nation, country, Chinese people and Chinese children to dragons? More specifically, a member of a dragon can't be regarded as a good member. Here we have to talk about dialectics. Just like there are good people and bad people in the world, there are evil dragons, there are evil dragons and dragons that are harmful to one side. No matter how good a dragon is, no matter how good it is, no matter how auspicious it is, no matter how loyal it is to its duties, there is no guarantee that it will not get sick from generation to generation.

Good dragons and evil dragons appear almost at the same time.

As early as the legendary era of Nu Wa, a ferocious black dragon once bared its teeth in the Central Plains, and this black dragon was killed by Nu Wa's family. When I arrived in Shun Di, nine dragons appeared in Jiuyishan area. Shun Di came to Hunan from the far north to help people drive away the nine dragons. The Yellow River roared over the Longmen. There is a Wolong ditch near Longmen. At that time, there were ten dragons entrenched in the ditch and crawled out from time to time to harm people and animals. Dayu, a water control hero who is diligent and loves the people, passed by here and saw the dragon fierce. He took a long bow and an arrow and shot down these ten evil things one by one. It was also the hero of water control who locked a dragon in Taihu Lake in the dragon cave at the bottom of the lake and pressed a big iron pot on it.

It can be seen that the mythical hero's way to deal with the dragon is to cut it mercilessly.

Why do you have to cut it off? Heroes understand that estimating the interests of evil is a crime against good; Only by getting rid of the dragon can the dragon team be pure and shoulder the heavy responsibility of distributing rain and controlling water for the benefit of all beings.

Wushan's staggered gorge and dragon cutting platform are very famous. Legend has it that when Dayu led a flood here, Yilong made a mistake in the waterway and was beheaded by Dayu. Dereliction of duty is no different from dragon.

Dragon chopping platform, a warning platform.

Du Jiang Zan in Sichuan is also very famous. There is a Long Fu Temple in Dujiang, which enshrines a mythical real person-jujube and libing. According to legend, during the Qin Dynasty, there was a continuous flood in Shu, and an evil dragon made waves and harmed one side, forcing the people to use sacrificial prisons and even children to sacrifice to each other. Li Bing, the prefect of Shu County, and his son Jiro made a careful plan to catch the dragon after investigation and study. When the dragon braved the wind and rain to enter the temple to snatch the sacrifice, Jiro Li Bingzi led all the warriors to make a sudden attack to jointly fight against the dragon. The dragon couldn't beat it, but it was finally caught. Li Bing tied it with chains and locked it in a deep pool under the pillars of Fulongguan. There is no flood in Shu.

There are really not many satraps like Li Bing.

Master Ma was a famous horse doctor in the era of the Yellow Emperor. According to legend, a sick dragon descended from the sky, with drooping ears and wide mouth, begging Master Ma for treatment. Master Ma pricked his lips with a copper needle and decocted it. A few days later, the dragon got better, nodded his thanks and walked away.

The most popular story is the story of Sun Simiao, the drug king, who treated the dragon. It is said that one night when Sun was fifty years old, he was absorbed in studying medical books under the lamp, when suddenly there was thunder and lightning and it rained cats and dogs. Someone knocked at the door. When the medicine king opened the door, he saw a thin old man in a yellow robe, who came to seek medical treatment. The old man's clothes don't get wet. Hardly had he entered the room when the rain stopped. The King of Medicine felt his pulse and said, "This pulse is like a cloud, falling like a river. Are you a dragon? " The old man nodded and sighed. "What a wonderful vein!" The medicine king said, "Your illness is from eating. Now you are hungry, but you can't eat anything, can you? " The dragon nodded again. The king of medicine said, "Show yourself the day after tomorrow." On the third day, the dragon came and walked from the foot of the mountain to Wang Yao's yard. The medicine king deeply stuck a needle in the faucet and poured a bucket of medicine into the dragon. The dragon vomited and diarrhea for a while, and was shut up in the cave for a few days. Well, it flew away.

There are many gangrene and pathological changes today. How much we need a contemporary Ma Shihuang, a contemporary Sun Simiao with superb medical skills!

The legend of the dragon-Snow Mountain Dragon;

There is a Longtan on the top of the snowy mountain. It is said that whoever prays for rain or shine can always meet people's requirements.

The old man said: At that time, there was an arhat in the state of Gandhara who often went to Longchi to visit the Dragon King. Lohan worked miracles and sat on the bed and flew away. His apprentice Xiaomi Sha hid under the bed, grabbed the foot of the bed tightly and followed the master. I didn't come out until I got to the Dragon Palace.

When Luohan and his disciples arrived at the Dragon Palace, the Dragon King asked them to stay for dinner. The Dragon King came down from the sky and took out manna rice to entertain Lohan, but what he gave the little novice monk was ordinary food in the world.

Lohan finished his manna meal and sat down to give a lecture to the Dragon King. Little novice monk went to the kitchen to wash the rice bowl for Master. There are some leftover rice grains in the rice bowl, which are delicious. Little novice monk thought, why doesn't the food I just ate smell good at all? Oh, so you, the dragon king, look down on me. Well, today I want you to know my ability. I want to kill you and be the dragon king myself.

When the little novice monk thought of this, the dragon king felt a sharp pain in his head. After Lohan finished speaking, the Dragon King repeatedly apologized and asked for forgiveness. After returning to the temple, Shami vowed to realize this wish.

That night, the little novice monk died and became a dragon. He took off and flew to Longchi on the top of the snow-capped mountain. He had a fierce battle with the Dragon King, finally killed the Dragon King, lived in the Dragon Palace, and gave orders to bring all the original subordinates of the Dragon King under his jurisdiction.

Misha is not satisfied. He thought, the Dragon King won't give me manna from heaven. So does your master. Why don't you talk? So he even blamed Master, so a strong wind blew, uprooted successive trees and tried to destroy Master's temple.

At this time, King Jia of Carnice learned about this matter and came to ask. Lohan told the story to King Garnish in detail. King Ganeshaga built a temple and a stupa for Misha under the snow-capped mountain, which was over 100 feet high. Want to be a peacemaker for them. However, the novice monk refused, always calling it trouble. The temples and pagodas were built seven times and destroyed six times by Shamilong.

King Ganesh Ga was also angry, thinking that I was the king and even a little novice monk could not subdue him. Is this ridiculous? He lit up a large number of military forces and came to the foot of the snow-capped mountain to fill the Dragon Pool.

Shamilong was afraid, turned into an old brahmin and said to the king:

"You are an open king, invincible, supreme, how can you fight with dragons for no reason? Dragons are just an animal, and its power is endless. Walking in heaven and earth is no match for us human beings. It's really not worthwhile for the king to make a scene today and fight a dragon. You can't talk; If you lose, it will be even more embarrassing. I advise you to retreat and go home quickly. "

The king of Carnice refused to listen to him and insisted on fighting.

Shamilong returned to Longchi and launched a threat. Suddenly, thunder rumbled, lightning flashed, the wind pulled up the tree, and sand and stones hit the tree like raindrops. It was dark, and the king's army was beaten at sixes and sevens and fled everywhere.

The king had to ask the Tathagata to protect him and said:

"I have never lost a battle, but today I lost in the hands of a dragon. My life is terrible. Pray for ancestors to come, be merciful and bless me to defeat the dragon. "

As a result, the king's shoulders burst into flames and the wind subsided. When the dark clouds cleared, Shamilong could no longer exert his strength and had to flee back to Longchi.

The king ordered each sergeant to choose a stone and vowed to fill the Dragon Pool. Shamilong became a brahmin again and went to say to the king:

"I am the dragon king in the snow-capped mountain Longtan. I was defeated by you and had to ask for forgiveness. If you really kill me, I will hold a grudge, and I will find opportunities for revenge from generation to generation. Look at you. "

King Garnish made peace with Shamilon and swore to him that he would never forgive him if he committed another crime.

Shamilong said, "I am a dragon. When I was attacked by a dragon, I couldn't control myself. " . Please rebuild the temple, I won't destroy it. You can send a man to the top of the mountain at any time. If you find a black cloud rising on the mountain, knock on the cow bone quickly. I can control myself when I hear this voice. So King Ganeshio built a temple and stupa there. The habit of sending people to the top of the mountain to see clouds has been passed down to the present. Nine sons give birth to dragons, that is, nine sons give birth to dragons, and none of them are Jackie Chan, so they are different. The so-called "dragon gave birth to nine children" does not mean that the dragon just gave birth to nine children. In the traditional culture of China, nine represents a lot and has a supreme position. Nine is an imaginary number and an expensive number, so it is used to describe the dragon son. There is a long-standing saying that dragons have nine sons, but there has been no saying about which nine animals are, and it was not until the Ming Dynasty that there were various opinions.

The saying that "the dragon has nine sons" comes from Li Dongyang's Huailu Hall Collection in the Ming Dynasty. The nine sons of the dragon are:

Records of dragon activities and dragon keepers

Legend has it that when Fu was born, there was a dragon, so the dragon recorded and created characters. "The Seventeen Years of Zuo" said, "The Taigang family took the dragon as their discipline, so they took the dragon as their teacher's name." The Chronicle of Bamboo Slips also records that Fuxi Shi has Longfei, Ganlong, Julong, Longjiang, Longtu, Shuilong, Qinglong, Chilong, Bailong, Heilong and Huanglong. Obviously, Fuxi clan group, the ancestor of ancient Dongyi, used dragons as totems.

In the Twenty-ninth Year of Zuo, there is also a record that "the public gave a lamb and a fur, so that the dragon gave Qi Huangong"; "Notes" also said: Shun Dynasty "Nanxun country presented Mao Long, a woman and a man, and set up the Dragon Palace.
