Travel Notes: A River Like a Fairy Canal —— Approaching the Luohe River
Wentu/Gao Xiaoqian
This section of the river like Xianqu Village is the most northwest section of the Luohe River flowing through Dali. The section from west to east is parallel to the railway, and then the Luoshui River comes from northwest to southwest. From a distance, a small bend can be seen.

It is normal thinking logic to see the Great Wall and go to great wall village first, so we came to great wall village in Duanjia Town.
The villagers said: The Great Wall is in the south of the village, next to the school in Donggaoyuan Village, another village. The Great Wall runs north and south, and there is an old castle with many things from the past in it ...
In the easternmost part of the village, facing south, there are deep ravines in front of the door, which are ups and downs, which is the continuation of the Tielian Mountains.
We asked, "Are you afraid to live on the cliff head? Is the wind very strong in winter? "
The villagers said, "What's there to be afraid of? We have lived here for generations. It's warm in winter and cool in summer. It's very comfortable." It was a 78-year-old man who said this.
They sat facing south, quietly enjoying the spring sunshine.
There are several old houses in the village, some of which collapsed over the years, and two of which were built exactly the same. In the 195s and 196s or earlier, there was a small pavilion on the high door wall, with a concierge and a small yard. The houses were built on both sides of the eaves, with small doors and windows, small lattice windows and a tall locust tree at the door.
"This tree is 8 or 9 years old, and it is very valuable. Some people pay 5, yuan to buy it, but others don't sell it, no matter how much they say. They do business in Huacheng, and they don't want money." The enthusiastic villagers said.
When we heard that we wanted to see the Luohe River, we were told that Xiangxianqu Village was very close to the Luohe River.
"Why is it called Xiangxianqu Village?" we asked.
"Like Xianqu village, there used to be many rich people, and there was no shortage of food and clothing. It was called Xianqu." The quick-talking villagers said.
this is their understanding. I don't know what it's like in Xiangxianqu village.

It's not easy to get to Xiangxianqu Village!
Seven ditches and eight beams have a steep slope, with high earth tablelands on both sides and thick loess under their feet. A tricycle sped by, and it was dusty. Fortunately, I wore a mask, otherwise my mouth was full of soil.
standing on the earthen garden and looking down, the Luohe River is parallel to the Houxi Railway, just like Xianqu Village, but it's a long way to go, so I took a shortcut and climbed down the steep earthen tableland. When I got down to the road, I looked up timidly. The steep earthen tableland was almost a right angle.
Water, only the Luohe River, can make people quiet. This section of the Luohe River first runs from west to east, and then from northwest to southwest. The Luohe River is still as clear as green, moving slowly and flowing quietly. Approaching the bank of the Luohe River, the river sand is red, with a shallow layer, which shines brightly under the sun.
Although the brand of the rising water in the Luohe River is still there last year, the cracks in the dry land can almost fill the next fist, and the mud in the houses in the fruit trees fills half of the houses, but you will find that as long as someone has roots, there will always be hope, and there will always be hope, just like the captain of Xianqu Village organizing the villagers.
The last few peach trees on the bank of the river have blossomed, and bees are humming for honey. There are also neat green vegetables in the vegetable fields in front of people's houses in the village ...
Like Xianqu Village, with its back on Tielian Mountain and its foot on Luohe River, it has excellent feng shui.

I was going to see the site of the Great Wall of Wei, but I couldn't go because of time.
But it's good to see the ancient castle in Donggaoyuan. Located in the west of Donggaoyuan Village, the ancient castle is one of the well-preserved ancient buildings in Dali County, which is of great reference value to the study of ancient castle architecture. In September 28, it was listed as the fifth batch of provincial key cultural relics protection units by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government.
I met a villager at the gate of the castle. He told me that the ancient castle used to be the only higher primary school hall in Northwest Township, Northwest County, which contained a main hall, a theater and many antiques. Now the city wall is much narrower than before. When they were young, they pulled a cart on the castle wall.
He also enthusiastically contacted the person who took care of the fort in the city. On the phone, people said something was wrong, and said politely that if he was there, he would definitely open the door for us to see.
The castle sits north to south, with a rectangular plane, which is 55 meters wide from east to west and 13 meters long from north to south, and covers an area of 7,15 square meters. The walls of the castle are rammed with loess, with a height of 8-9.6 meters and different widths. There are ditches around the walls, and horse faces are built at the four corners of the castle, which has a good defense function. It was founded in Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in Qing Dynasty, and the castle is magnificent and solid.
The village built at the end of the Western Jin Dynasty was named Donggaoyuan because it was located on the highland east of the Great Wall of Wei. It has a history of more than 1,7 years. Such a long-standing village can not help but make people respect it.

Take advantage of a little time, let's go. Strange mountains and rivers come on us and recede one by one, and then we know that the more interesting thing is to walk more. Only by walking on the road can we get rid of limitations, get rid of persistence and make all experiences full of vitality.
