Is winter cold in Taiwan? Is it necessary to wear a down jacket?

Taiwan’s climate is characterized by warm winters, hot summers, abundant rainfall, and frequent typhoons and heavy rains in summer and autumn. Since the Tropic of Cancer passes through the central part of Taiwan Island, the northern part of Taiwan has a subtropical climate and the southern part has a tropical climate. The average annual temperature (except mountains) is 22°C, and the annual precipitation is more than 2,000 mm. There is no need to wear down jackets in winter in Taiwan.
