Which part of China is a drought-stricken area?

The drought-stricken areas in China are northwest and southwest.

The arid areas in northwest China include Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia, the north of Shaanxi Qinling, the west of Inner Mongolia and the west of Shanxi, accounting for more than one third of the country's total area, and the main deserts in China are distributed in this area.

Southwest is one of the seven geographical divisions of China, bordering Central China and South China in the east and northwest China in the north, including Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Xizang Autonomous Region. Among them, Sichuan Basin is the most densely populated, convenient and economically developed area in this region.
