Take your old age to Xiamen for a little trip

How to spend the last two days of the annual vacation? I remembered that I decided to go to Xiamen last year, and the air tickets and hotels were all booked. The day before boarding, Xiamen Airport was closed due to a typhoon, so the entire trip was cancelled. This time, I can use this time to visit Xiamen. Finally, I decided to explore Xiamen again with my child (5 years old) and mother (64 years old). So I started searching for air tickets and hotels online, and finally chose United Airlines’ air tickets, which were really cheap! It costs 1,977 yuan for adults and 1,720 yuan for children, but it takes off and lands at Nanyuan Airport. I have never taken a flight from Nanyuan Airport before. This is my first time and it is very new. Before going there, I read the situation of Nanyuan Airport on Dianping.com, and the reviews were really scary! So, after going there with this mentality, I felt it was still acceptable. The only unacceptable thing is that you can't swipe your card there, which is really weird. There is no ATM in the terminal on the second floor, only on the first floor. If you have already passed the security check, you can withdraw money, but you will have to go through the security check again. In short, Nanyuan Airport is smaller than Capital Airport, but it has all the functions, so it’s okay.

At 3pm, the plane arrived at Xiamen Gaoqi Airport at 6pm. Because it had just rained lightly, the air was okay. After coming out, I took a taxi to the hotel. Traffic jams are also serious on the road. There are too many "urban congestions" in China! This hotel was booked online. The room is not big but the location is good. After checking in, I simply packed up and went to the legendary Little Glasses Seafood Food Stall, which is really close to the hotel. It didn't take me ten minutes to finish. When we arrived, we ordered the legendary frozen bamboo shoots, mango juice, Pippi shrimp, and soy sauce. Really delicious! Sure enough, it lives up to its reputation. A full meal of this seafood only costs less than 200 yuan. Really great value. Unfortunately, I was too busy eating that I didn’t even take a photo. When I remembered to take pictures, I realized that only vegetable soup was left.

The next day, according to my arrangement, I was going to a hot spring. The hot spring I was going to was Riyuegu Hot Spring Resort. We took several bus stops from the hotel to the ferry, where there are resort buses to pick up and drop off guests. The journey takes about 40 minutes, departing at 10 am, and the round-trip fare is 20 yuan/person. (I read a lot of Xiamen guides online before, saying that the 20 yuan fare can be offset at the resort, but now the 20 yuan is the round-trip fare and cannot be offset.) When you get there, you start washing and changing clothes, and then enter the bathing area. Because my clothes were very cool (only a swimsuit and bath towel) and I was extremely insecure about my figure, I didn’t bring a camera.

The entire bathhouse is in a forest, with great scenery and many types of bathhouses. There are various wine ponds, tea ponds, fruit ponds, flower ponds, medicine ponds, etc. They are arranged together in an interesting way. The kids had a great time and took a dip in all the pools. There are two kinds of small fish hot springs here, one is small fish and the other is big fish. The small fish took a bite and felt quite comfortable. It’s a bit overwhelming to try the big fish. The Xiaoyu Hot Spring here charges 30 yuan per person separately, not the 10 yuan mentioned in the online guide. There are free fruit drinks in the morning and afternoon, and a light meal at noon. There are also eggs cooked in hot springs, which are delicious! There is free tea next to many bathing pools to replenish water in time, and you can also change dry bath towels at any time. There are not only various hot springs, but also cold springs. The cold spring water can almost reach the freezing point, and when it is heated, you can feel the feeling of ice and fire!

I didn’t end the trip until four in the afternoon. The children cheered and asked to invite their friends to come again next time! Tickets for Riyue Valley can be purchased online, priced at 103 yuan for adults and 87 yuan for children. If you go to the store and buy 168 from Monday to Thursday and 198 from Friday to Sunday, the reason why you choose to go to the hot springs on the first day is because the price is cheap. If time permits, it is recommended to take a bath in a hot spring before the end of the trip, it is really tiring. After washing up again, we took the bus back to the ferry. It was supposed to be a 40-minute drive, but it took a full hour because of the traffic jam. After arriving at the ferry, I decided to get off the bus and walk to Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street for dinner. After walking for about 15 minutes, we arrived at Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street and immediately saw the "Huang Zehe Food Store", which sells various Xiamen snacks. We ordered oyster omelette, sand tea noodles, peanut soup, melon seed cakes, meatballs and fish ball soup. The peanut soup is very sweet and has a bit of fermented rice flavor. The satay noodles are filled with whole shrimps, squid and a big chunk of fried tofu etc. The fish ball soup is a bit salty, but the fish balls are really elastic and filled with fillings. Also, you need to buy a meal coupon before ordering. Everyone should do what they can. If you buy more meal tickets, there will be no refunds! The dining environment there is average. It’s no different from an ordinary snack bar. I think most tourists eat there. There is no difference between Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street and Wangfujing Pedestrian Street in Beijing or Nanjing Road in Shanghai. They were all shops selling local specialties, so I didn’t buy much because the prices were high. After wandering around for a while, I returned to the hotel.

On the third day, we set foot on Gulangyu Road. After breakfast in the morning, we took the bus to the ferry. I bought a ferry ticket to Gulangyu Island for 7 yuan, and the total sailing time is only 7 minutes. Many people were from tour groups, and tour group flags were everywhere on the ferry. After disembarking, a group of people volunteered to show us the way. First, I saw the big banyan tree, it was really big. Because I had children, I went to the aquarium there. Really small. I have been to the aquarium in Beijing before, but after seeing this I found it very boring. However, the children were still very excited and curious and wanted to see various marine life. Tickets to the aquarium are really not cheap. Such a small museum costs 90 yuan. If it's not for children, I wouldn't recommend it. Not worth it.

There are many kinds of fish in the Gulangyu morning market, most of which cannot be named, and some are very beautiful.

Starting from the aquarium, the official walk on Gulangyu Island began. The roads here are really complicated. First, I played at the beach for a while. Of course, this is the kids’ favorite project!

I really admire the child’s walking ability, but she also worked very hard and her feet were blistered when she went home at night! We (o o) went to Haitang Paradise. Although the tickets here are very expensive, I think it is worth it. We really learned about the history of Gulangyu Island and learned many stories about Gulangyu Island here. In addition to many different styles of architecture, there are also many everyday items used by people in the past. Through these things, we can realize how exquisite the lives of wealthy people were in the past. this is life! It’s explained in great detail here. The children listened attentively, followed the instructor from one room to another, and actively answered the questions raised by the instructor. There are puppet shows every hour and Nanyin performances every hour. The puppet show here is a traditional Fujian puppet show, each lasting about 15 minutes. It's short but informative. The puppets used in the performance here feel very shabby, and many of them are disfigured. If you like puppets, here is a more exquisite collection of puppets. As for Nanyin Yiyi, I can't understand it, but the rhythm is very good.

Opposite the Paradise Tower is the "Huang Rongyuan Hall", which has the same ticket price as the Paradise Tower. The scenery here is completely different from the one on the other side. There are many rockeries and gardens in the courtyard here, which feels like Suzhou gardens. The wooden floor of the main building here is still a well-preserved original wooden floor, still as bright as new.

After leaving here, we wandered to a busy street, where we ate Mark’s cheese and potatoes, rice rolls, octopus croquettes and Turkish ice cream. I also overeated and forgot to take photos of the food. After my nap, I started walking around. Walking around, I saw a large group of people. I walked over and saw that it was a "flower dog". The sign on the dog says: "My name is Maomao. Photography is one yuan, group photo is two yuan, and egg flowers are five yuan. If I don't pay, I have no conscience." How cute! I observed for a while that everyone consciously put money into the basket after taking photos. There is really a lot of money in the basket. Although it was fun, I still felt that the dog was working hard and pitiful, and his owner was not seen nearby.

Next to the dog is the playground, just in time for the baseball game between Hong Kong students and American students. America's handsome guy is really stylish when he hits the ball! The kids were fascinated by it and decided to play baseball too!

When we walked out of the playground, we saw "Liuzhuang Garden". At this time, the sky was overcast, with drizzle falling from time to time. Here, we look up at Sunlight Rock, the commanding heights of Gulangyu Island. From below, it looked really crowded and flags were flying, so we decided to abandon the climb and just visit the site.

After entering Xinzhuang Garden and crossing Bridge No. 44, we visited the Piano Museum. There are so many pianos here! It is recommended for piano lovers to take a look. There are also staff who play piano for tourists. Although I can't play the piano, I really envy these staff members who can play such an ancient and priceless piano with their own hands. This can be considered a work benefit. After coming out of the piano museum, I went to play the twelve holes. The twelve holes are composed of twelve zodiac signs, each hole represents a zodiac sign, and the holes are connected like a maze. Very interesting too. The children ran up and down happily, looking for her zodiac sign - pig, and found all kinds of strange pictures.

After coming out of the village garden, the children were really tired. I took her to a nearby bar to sleep, and she was bitten by a mosquito on Gulangyu Island. The mosquitoes here are so ferocious even in November! After waking up, the children will be resurrected with blood. At this time, it was getting dark. Next, I walked to look for food and went to the streets of Longtou Road. I ate Lin's fish balls, angelica beef noodles and fish ball soup at the beef flavor restaurant, mango yogurt at Maopingwu, and chicken steak at Taiwan Province . They all taste great. The owner of the beef restaurant is cool. There are only two tables in the room. The boss is very busy, so just say what you want and the boss will bring it to you. Generally speaking, the snacks on Gulangyu Island are no less than 15 yuan. There is no price for the 10 yuan mentioned in the guide. As for "Zhang Sanfeng" and "Ms. Zhao's Shop" that are popular on the Internet, I just looked around and found them to be just average. It is estimated that they no longer spend excessively online.

When I walked to the ferry, I discovered an interesting thing: "Naibao" (a name very characteristic of Taiwan Province. I don't know why when I hear this name, the first thing that comes to mind is Lin Chiling?) , with popcorn on top and milk tea on the bottom, which is very interesting. Kids love it. The store seemed to be buying it for children, so he thoughtfully reminded me if it was hot milk tea.

Finally, the children left Mo Bao at this Taiwanese chicken steak restaurant. "I wish grandpa good health and all the best" and a little man in a rabbit suit. This chicken steak shop also sells Taiwanese fruit-flavored beer, which is quite interesting.

On the fourth day after breakfast, I took a bus to Nanputuo, which is separated from Xiamen University by a wall. There are many people here in Nanputuo. In addition to tour groups, many locals also come to enjoy the incense. On the day we went, there seemed to be a religious ceremony and some temples were closed to the public. In addition, we did not climb the Wulao Peak behind the Sutra Pavilion. The mountain is not too high, but because there were old people and children, we were afraid that it would be too hard for them, and we were going to Xiamen University, so we didn’t climb it. If conditions permit, we still recommend going up and taking a look. The scenery should be good.

Free incense is distributed at the entrance of Nanputuo, and incense is burned directly at the entrance of Tianwang Temple. Burning incense is not allowed in the temple, mainly because the main body of the temple is made of wood. In fact, it is best to have an explanation when visiting a temple. There are quite a few allusions here. There is a release pond in front of the King's Hall where pigeons can be fed. There are many turtles and a large catfish in the release pond.

After a brief stroll in Nanputuo, we went to the nearby Xiamen University. As soon as you enter the school gate, you can see college student volunteers providing services to tourists. I saw a hand-drawn map of Xiamen University among them, and there were also elderly women selling such maps next to them. It was a copy of a thick 10-yuan kraft paper. Finally, I bought a 10-yuan map from a nearby canteen. It included maps of Xiamen city, Gulangyu Island, Xiamen University and other places, as well as some postcards. But upon closer inspection, it seems that there is still no hand-drawn map of Xiamen University. Fortunately, the place to go is also relatively easy to find. After walking for a while, you can see Furong Lake. Many people are taking pictures and students are doing activities on the island in the middle of the lake. From time to time, students ride bicycles around. The day we went was a Saturday and the students seemed very comfortable! Furong Lake is not very big, but it adds a lot of fun to the campus. There are many banyan trees on campus, many of them are very big. There is a large lawn beside Furong Lake, and many people take pictures on it. The children also pose in various poses, lie down or climb trees, and take lots of photos. After shopping around, we went to the third floor of the legendary Furong Restaurant, which is the only restaurant in Xiamen University open to tourists. When I went in, I saw a lot of people. There are stalls there, many Xiamen snacks and buffets. When eating here, you have to choose something delicious first, then pay, and then come back to get your own food. Because everything here is freshly made, it will be a little slower. As for the taste, I personally think it is very average, not special at all, just a full meal.

After dinner, we left from the direction of Xiamen University Baicheng. After leaving Xiamen University, the beach is right across the road. When crossing the road, you need to pay attention. Cars drive very fast here and there are no traffic lights at crosswalks. When we got to the beach, we planned to rent a bicycle and go for a ride, but we tried for a long time without success, mainly because we couldn't control our direction and were afraid of falling, so we had to give up. As for the price of a bicycle with a double child seat, it is 30 yuan per hour, with no limit on 60 yuan. If you can lower it to 20 yuan per hour. I played on the beach for a while but failed to ride. The beach is very attractive to children, who clamor to play in the sand as soon as they come out in the morning. Now I finally got my wish.

While we were playing on the beach, two people wearing Mickey Mouse costumes took the initiative to take photos with the children. They cooperated very well. At first, we were quite happy. After taking the photo, the man took out a card and said he was deaf-mute and asked us to give him 20 yuan. I felt like I was cheated, but I still gave him ten dollars. Friends who go there next time must pay attention! After playing for a while, it got a little cold, so we walked from the boardwalk to Pearl Bay, left the beach and returned to the hotel. In the evening we decided to visit the Xiaoyan Seafood Stall again. When we got there we were horrified by what we saw. There are many people waiting for seats at the door. It was estimated that there were seventy or eighty people carrying luggage, and people kept coming. But we decided to wait a little longer. After half an hour, we finally found our seats. We had another crazy seafood meal, which was really delicious. . Because I still only cared about eating and forgot to take pictures. In short, it was delicious.

My mother said that she had a special affection for Kinmen after she turned 40, so on the fifth day we took a boat trip to Kinmen Island and the surrounding islands such as Dadan and Erdan. Ferry tickets are also purchased online. It said online that it cost 75 yuan per adult and child for a ticket (126 yuan per person at the ferry terminal), but after we went there, they said that no ticket is required if you are under 1.2 meters tall, so you can save money! Identity cards were also checked when boarding the ship, but the elderly and children did not need to. We take the 9:50 flight. On the first floor, we sat casually. There are more than 200 coffee tables on the second floor. Each person can make tea for 40 to 50 yuan, and people on the first floor are not allowed to go to the second floor deck. After the ship left, the radio continued to promote things, first the seats in the tea room, then the photo location on the bow of the ship, and some so-called products from Taiwan Province. The funniest thing is that one yuan was exchanged for one Taiwan dollar. What is this exchange rate? The sale lasted for half a day, but no one bought it.

Due to historical reasons, Kinmen Island is under the jurisdiction of Taiwan Province. Mainland ships cannot get too close. They can only berth 800 meters away from the island, and the berthing time cannot exceed 10 minutes. The picture above shows a Taiwan patrol boat driving away another tourist boat. Unfortunately, it's not clear because it was shot through glass. You can also clearly see the flag on the stern of the ship in this photo. The sailing takes approximately one hour and forty minutes. In addition to Kinmen Island, you can also see the full view of Gulangyu Island and the island-ring road. After the voyage, we returned to the hotel to check out, and then took a car to Bailuzhou Park for a walk. It feels like a park built by Dang Lake. There are many unique plants in Xiamen, but nothing else special. I also saw a very clean kitten here.

I returned to the hotel from Bailuzhou Park, picked up my luggage, and took a taxi to the airport. The flight took off at around 6pm and arrived in Beijing at 9pm sharp. The whole trip went smoothly and I had a great time. We spent a few days in Xiamen on cloudy days and the photos were not ideal. Personally, I think the weather in Xiamen is still a bit hot in November. Just wear short sleeves. Long-sleeved shirts are enough for the elderly and children, but don’t wear too many. In addition, when we returned to Beijing and went to the airport, we heard the taxi driver say that on our first day in Xiamen, the road from the airport to the hotel was very long.

), I forgot the specific path, but I remember walking through a very long tunnel. Therefore, I suggest that if you want to go to the children's shoes in the future, you must ask to go to the city, which is relatively close. I feel that the hotel I chose this time was quite successful. There are many buses near the hotel. It’s very cheap for us to take a one-yuan bus ride to the scenic spots. I said a lot, I hope it will be helpful to others, and I hope I can correct my mistakes.
