A Brief Introduction to sourdrang queen's Political Career
There is a folk saying about why sourdrang queen was not buried in Zhaoling. When sourdrang queen died, the Qing court followed the ancestral system and decided to bury her in Zhaoling, where she was buried with Taizong. However, when Zigong passed through Dongling, it suddenly became heavy and abnormal. All the 128 barmen were crushed to the teeth, and they were unable to move, so they had to park Zigong on the spot. After two hours, I wanted to move on. Zigong seemed to grow on the ground and didn't move at all. Now I was so anxious that I sent a funeral to Wang Dachen, so I flew to the court. Emperor Kangxi received the letter, but he was also at a loss. That night, the emperor dreamed of sourdrang queen and said to the emperor, "I have made up my mind not to be buried with Taizong. Now the place where Zigong is parked is Shangji Jiarang, so I can build a mausoleum and bury it on the spot. Remember what I said, and I will not violate it." After the emperor woke up, he followed the instructions and chose auspicious doves, that is, to build a mausoleum. It's not so heavy to move the coffin again this time. Obviously, this is purely a myth and cannot be used as a basis.
It is also said that because sourdrang queen married Dourgen, she is no longer the queen of Huang Taiji, so she is not qualified to be buried in Zhaoling, nor is she ashamed to be buried with Huang Taiji. Sourdrang queen's marriage to Dourgen was never recorded in the official documents of the Qing court. After Emperor Kangxi, the emperors always admitted that she was the queen of Emperor Taizong. So this reason is not enough.
According to the historical data, there is a record of the reason why sourdrang queen was not buried with Huang Taiji. Sourdrang queen had already left a will for his burial place before his death. She earnestly enjoined Emperor Kangxi: "I tell you what's behind me: Emperor Taizong's Zigong has been in peace for a long time, and he is too humble to respect him. At this time, it is inconvenient to be buried together. If you don't start a field, it will be a waste of time and people, and it is not the meaning of burial. "I love your father and son, and I can't bear to go far away. I must be at peace in Zunhua, and I have no regrets." Emperor Kangxi has always been filial to his grandmother. After sourdrang queen's death, Emperor Kangxi followed his will and buried his grandmother near Dongling, Zunhua.
Then, why was Xiao Zhuang buried outside the Feng Shui wall on the east side of Dahongmen in the Qing Tombs, instead of in the Imperial Tombs? Many unofficial history said that this was because Xiao Zhuang married Dourgen and lost the face of the Aisingiorro family, so she was buried outside the gate of Lingqu, and she was punished to keep the door for future generations. In fact, this is just the subjective understanding of a busybody. The real reason is that Xiaoling of Shunzhi is in the supreme position in the mausoleum area, and Xiao Zhuang is Shunzhi's biological mother, so she is buried anywhere in the mausoleum area, which is lower than Xiaoling, which is out of proportion to her seniority. Second, although Xiao Zhuang was buried in Zunhua Qing Dongling, it is still a system with Zhao Mausoleum of Huang Taiji in Shenyang. Sourdrang queen's mausoleum is called Zhaoxi Mausoleum. Therefore, it is different from the Qing Dongling Mausoleum, which can't be confused. It can only be buried outside Dongling District to show the difference. Third, in the Qing Dynasty, no matter the emperors or princes, they all started from the tomb of the tomb owner with the highest generation. Sourdrang queen has the highest seniority among all the people buried in the Dongling of the Qing Dynasty, so every time he visits the mausoleum, he must start from the Zhaoxi Mausoleum in sourdrang queen. Dahongmen is the main entrance of the mausoleum. It's the only place for people to visit the mausoleum. Building Zhaoling next to Dahongmen also provides great convenience for the mausoleum, avoiding the labor of detouring. Fourth, in the Qing dynasty, the left was regarded as a noble position, and the emperor paid homage to the mausoleum, and all the people who entered and exited the palace gate, the temple gate and the mausoleum gate took the left door, while the ministers took the right door. Building Zhaoling on the left side of Dahongmen is a noble place, which also reflects the respect and admiration of her descendants and grandchildren. On the left side of Dahongmen, the terrain is high and flat, and the soil is thick and pure, while on the right side of Dahongmen, it is low-lying and stony, and it is near the west river, so there are often floods. Therefore, from the geographical environment, Zhaoxiling should also be built on the left side of Dahongmen. From the above points of view, burying sourdrang queen outside Dongling Mausoleum is by no means to punish her for guarding the mausoleum gate for future generations, but the best choice made after comprehensive consideration of various reasons.
