2. Special treatment methods were adopted after digging the well. An old man once heard his father say: When digging a well and encountering muddy water, first fill it with charcoal, lay it on thick brown silk (coir raincoat), and then build the well wall to purify the water and remove the muddy water. Therefore, it is natural for the Hegui Building built on swamp land to encounter muddy water when digging the left well. In order to solve the draft problem, we can only invite experienced well diggers to adopt special methods to ensure that the dug well water Hun can eat. The method used by the well digger was what the old man called "filling the bottom of the well with charcoal and spreading coir raincoats", which filtered the muddy water, so the water in the re-dug well on the right became clear.

3. Raise fish in the well. Raising fish in a well is not just for viewing. It is to remove pollution and purify water quality. In the past, a kind of fish was often kept in Heguilou wells. It was called "Yangguan" in the local dialect and looked like a catfish. It swims and swims happily, no matter it is midsummer or severe cold, it always swims so comfortably all year round. This kind of fish can remove dirt, keep eating dirty things, keep the well water clean, and make silent contributions to the people of Heguilou.
