The poem says: "Today's flowers in Zhongzhou, the trees at the top of Lushan Mountain last year, have pity on the roots and cut new branches. Fortunately, bloom is still counted."
According to records, rhododendrons were collected and cultivated in the first year of Tang Zhenguan (785), and the most famous one was the rhododendrons cultivated in Helin Temple in Zhenjiang. ?
In the Song Dynasty, the cultivation of rhododendron had a new development. The poet Wang once transplanted azaleas in the courtyard: "The garden is small for personal use, and this flower is better than a golden belt." An Zhi in the Spring Forest in the Southern Song Dynasty: "Du Fu, this flower is very prosperous in the Qiantangmen Bodaiji. Su Dongpo has a poem by Du Fu in Nanyitang, which is kept in this hall. There are many flowers in the mountains. " It shows that azaleas are more common in quadrangles in Hangzhou.
