How high is Haizi Mountain?
Haizishan Nature Reserve is located in the north of Daocheng, with a total area of 3,287 square kilometers and an average elevation of 4,300-4,700 meters. The surface of the plateau is the largest ancient ice relic on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, namely "Daocheng ancient ice cap".
Rocks and sea urchins are everywhere. On the mountain with an average elevation of 4,500m, 1 145 sea urchins twinkle like a thousand diamonds dropped by God, ranking first in the country in scale and density.
Introduction of scenic spots:
The ancient ice cap, also known as the ancient ice cap, is a relic left by the long-term coverage of glaciers in the Quaternary Ice Age. The formation of Daocheng ancient ice sheet mainly benefited from the uplift of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Due to the strong uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its critical height, the plateau monsoon suddenly changed the atmospheric circulation in the northern hemisphere and formed the Great Ice Age.
Although scientists have denied that there was a large ice sheet on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau during the Quaternary Glaciation, the possibility of local ice sheet formation cannot be ruled out, and the Daocheng ancient ice sheet we saw is the largest and most typical one. Later, with the global temperature rising and the arrival of the interglacial period, the ice sheet gradually melted and the glaciers retreated. Many ancient glacial remains we saw were gradually formed in the repetition of glacial and interglacial periods.
