What's the climate like in Guangzhou and Shenzhen?
The peak temperature exceeds the average temperature.
Professor Wen Zhiping, director of the Department of Atmospheric Science of Sun Yat-sen University and vice chairman of Guangdong Meteorological Society, pointed out in his special report Global Warming and Meteorological Disasters that the global average temperature increased significantly in the past 100 years, and China has experienced 19 warm winters in the past 50 years. In the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration, the climate warming in Guangzhou has obviously intensified since 1970s. In 2007, the annual average temperature in Guangzhou reached 23.2℃, and the average temperature rose by 0.4℃ every 10 year, which was higher than the average level in the Pearl River Delta and the whole country. The average temperature in Shenzhen, another important city in the Pearl River Delta, also rose to 23.6℃ last year, which was 1. 1℃ higher than the average temperature for many years. Experts estimate that Shenzhen may become a tropical climate in the future as the temperature continues to warm.
