The Significance of Ten Witches in Lingshan
In Feng Ju, Mr. Ren Naiqiang's note: "It clearly refers to salt springs". Mr. Yuan Ke, a famous mythologist, explained the theory of "Lingshan" in Notes to Shan Hai Jing:
Lingshan, suspected Wushan. There is a cloud in Shuowen: "Spirit is also a witch, and jade is used to serve God." "Nine Poems of Chu Ci Dong Di Tai Yi": "Lingyan Xi Jiao Fu." Wang Yi's Note: "Witch also." "King in the Cloud": "Even the spirit stays." Wang Yi added, "The Chu people called witches Lingzi." It is the word "spirit" and "witchcraft".
Press: The traditional Chinese character of "Ling" is "Yi" and the lower part is "Wu". Mr. Yuan quoted the word "God" in Nine Songs of Chu, and all the chapters and sentences of Wang Yi's songs of Chu in Han Dynasty were marked with the word "God", that is, witchcraft. Xu Shen's Shuo Wen Jie Zi also interprets the word "spirit" as a witch. So "spirit" and "witch" were originally a word in ancient times, so "Lingshan" is Wushan. As for the status of witches, it is quoted from Shang Xun's Classic Book: "Time is called a witch." Legend: "Witches are people who deal with ghosts and gods and pray for antidote to cure diseases and seek happiness. Men are called witches and women are called witches. " He also quoted "Lu Lan She Le": "Being a witch." Note: "The doctor is a witch among women." He also quoted the "wizard" of "Zhou Li Chun Guan Guan Xu". Note: "The witch's palm is calling her to get rid of the disease." It can be seen that the main duties of ancient witches are: first, dealing with ghosts and gods, including divination, prayer, sacrifice, singing and dancing to meet the gods; The second is to treat diseases and eliminate disasters. Mr. Yuan Ke explains the "rise and fall" of the Ten Witches;
That is, from now on, up and down to heaven, declare God's will and achieve the meaning of people's hearts. Lingshan covers the mountain ladder.
