Women's Prose of Cleaning Glass
I talked anxiously with my acquaintances and colleagues about cleaning the glass, and everyone said that I had a headache. I can't help sighing that the rich cannot change their nature, and even the poor have become vulgar. People who work are dishonest and reliable. These people are not only vulgar, rude, absurd and perfunctory, but sometimes they steal things. Therefore, when you come, you have to guard against things at home. Although it is a bit too much for them, there are all kinds of people in the world, and there are always a few who don't follow the rules. I don't have that big prejudice against these part-time workers. Because I also come from the countryside and some of my relatives are working, I think it is really not easy for working people to suffer and earn some money. I can understand the hardships of their coming out to work hard, and I have suffered from them.
I remember last year, I got a random contact number from a urinal posted outside the security door that said housekeeping. The next day, a man and a woman came to clean the glass. I looked at the glass of three bedrooms as soon as I entered the door. The asking price is very high. I tried to negotiate with them, but I didn't talk much at last. But it's not easy for me to take a Sunday off, so I have to obey their price. I know the speed at which these two people clean the glass. One day, in order to clean the house more, seize the time and earn more money, all the windows of three bedrooms were cleaned, which took less than an hour and a half. As a result, water drops were everywhere, and almost a bag of washing powder was used. Two screens on the outer glass layer were damaged and several glass clips were damaged. I followed them after they left. I have to travel home for a long time during the Spring Festival, so I can't help it. My husband ran several times to find the master, changed a new clip and repaired the screen window. Some teachers have to go home early and close the door. It made me uncomfortable for two or three days. Although at the beginning of this year, the number of housekeeping telephone was posted on the outer wall of the corridor and outside the security door, I dare not contact strangers who don't know the details to clean the glass again.
So I called a colleague and asked him to contact a glass cleaner, listen to the weather forecast and make an appointment for Sunday.
At nine o'clock in the morning, the glass cleaner came. A woman, alone, in her thirties, with a delicate and quiet white face, a tall figure, a strong waist, and a simple and neat dress, saw my shy smile and lost the vulgar and philistine things of the working people in her eyes. The cold wind in winter blew two beautiful blushes on the white face. If it weren't for the woman with a rag bucket or something, I would think it was a quiet and dignified young woman. As soon as she comes in, I will hand her slippers. She smiled at me and took out a pair of clean soft cloth and black shoes from her small bag and put them on. According to the rules, I showed her the three-bedroom glass first, and then set a price with her. Prices are rising year by year. I guess this year will definitely be higher than last year. But to my surprise, her asking price is the same as that of cleaning glass last year. I am secretly happy with my colleagues. I pointed out the location of the bathroom for the lady, prepared washing powder and something to clean the glass on the stool. The first time this woman saw me, she gave me a good impression.
She began to clean the glass on the front of the balcony. I sat on the sofa in the living room, holding a book in my hand, but my eyes kept chasing the tall figure of a woman, wandering back and forth. At this time, at ten o'clock in the morning, the lighting on the fourth floor is particularly good. Today is another sunny day. The temperature is MINUS ten degrees, and the bright sunshine pours on women like running water. Although it is more than ten o'clock in the twelfth lunar month, people seem to feel the arrival of spring. I found that this woman is different from the person who was hired to clean the glass before. She cleans the glass slowly and gently. She took the cloth and moved it up and down evenly. Every time she came to a glass seam and border, she carefully picked it up and down several times. When she pulls the screen window, she is careful and skillful, and her serious attitude seems to be that she is the owner of this house. Let me get up from the sofa, put down my book, go to the woman and take the initiative to talk to her. The woman began to speak off and on. She and her husband have been separated for several years. They have two children, a daughter and a son. The daughter followed them and the son stayed at home. Because of poor living conditions in a remote ravine, my son began to live in school at the age of ten. Men do the rough work of painting houses and scraping walls. She sighed and said that the adult was incompetent and the child suffered. Her son lived in school at the age of ten, and my son was at the age of 17 for Chinese New Year, so he couldn't bear to let him go. Maybe they are all women, and I can't help feeling sorry for her. Start to move the bench, get the cloth for the woman, and tell her to pay attention to safety and be careful not to fall. With the warm sunshine, I talked a lot with this woman unconsciously. It's almost one o'clock at noon, and there's still one bedroom that hasn't been cleaned. At this time, the woman had taken off her coat because of the hot weather, and the hairline on her forehead was wet and stuck to her scalp. When I used to clean the glass at noon, I always cooked the meal hastily and let my son go out to eat. This noon is no exception. But I'm suddenly in a good mood to cook at the moment.
After I cooked the meal, I called the women over for a light meal. That woman was rude and washed her hands. She nibbled, obviously a little stiff. She was eating, and I saw her blushing and smiling. She said that after cleaning the glass for several years, no one ever stayed for lunch. She looked at me with a strange look when she said this.
At four o'clock in the afternoon, all the glass was wiped clean. I handed her the price I tried to make first. Suddenly, she took out a piece of change from her trouser pocket and put it on the coffee table. Her eyes sparkled with warmth, and she sincerely explained that we still have this deal next year, and I'll come and clean your glass again. I paused a little, picked up the money on the coffee table and handed it to her, but the woman refused to accept it, and she left. I looked at the ten dollars on the coffee table and felt a little uncomfortable.
In fact, people cannot generalize. It is not difficult to communicate with people. People, whether noble or humble, poor or rich, have a kind heart and a sense of self-esteem. As long as you put down your posture, treat each other honestly, communicate with others on an equal footing and respect the personal dignity of others, you will be respected by others; As long as you are good to others, others will be good to you; As long as you give a little love, you will get unexpected returns and have a happy mood at the same time.
