Introduction of Sijiaolou Historic Site

From the outside, the whole building is divided into four buildings (main seats) and four bars (horizontal rooms), showing a symmetrical architectural style. There is a semi-circular pond in front of the stone building, which forms a big oval with the whole house. The five turrets are commanding and domineering, like five brave soldiers. The walls around the stone building are all made of strip granite, 80 cm thick and rock-solid. Seeing this, we can imagine that even when there is a war, when the door of the stone building is firmly closed, the stone building is still peaceful and peaceful.

The whole mansion covers an area of more than 7,000 square meters, with a building area of more than 4,000 square meters, and there is a pond of 1 1,000 square meters in front. There are 108 rooms, 36 patios, 20 halls and 3 gatehouses in the house. Outside the door, there is a plaque of "Dafu Land", the second door is hung with a plaque of "Vice List" and "Wu Kui", and the third door is hung with a plaque of "Dunyu Hall". Its architectural style is quite different from that of ordinary Hakka dwellings. There are ear halls on the upper, middle, lower and left sides, and there is a hall behind the hall, commonly known as the North-South Suite. The upper, middle and lower halls and hallways, stone pillars and seats, screen posts, stacked gold frames, wooden beams and eaves screens are all fine wood and fine stones, which are still well preserved. Beams, columns, trusses and eaves are carved with dragons and phoenixes, painted in red, yellow and blue, and engraved with vivid patterns. The hall is separated from the horizontal house, and it is dark and humid, which shows that its ventilation and lighting are very particular. The horizontal house also has a hall, and the upper, lower and middle corridors are connected together. The halls in the house are connected, and the buildings are connected. The big round sleeve and the small round sleeve overlap each other. If a stranger walks into the house, it's like entering a maze, knowing the entrance, but not finding the door. There is a circle in the square of the whole building, and the circle is square, and yin and yang are combined, which reflects the Hakka people's understanding of yin and yang feng shui in architecture. From the building materials, exquisite stone carvings, exquisite painters and hanging plaques, it shows that the owner at that time was a rich family.

There is also a pool on the left side of the gatehouse, and there are two deep wells beside it. It is said that this is a fire-proof and anti-theft facility. There is a study on the left side of the gatehouse, which shows that the owner of the house is a man who knows books and values education. According to Zhang's genealogy, Juck Zhang, the grandson of the master, ranked sixth in the preliminary test (in the 24th year of Daoguang), and his great-grandson Zhang Debin tried martial arts in Tongzhi for six years.

In the center of the top of the flower stand behind the house, there is a century-old Cycas. It is said that when the house was built, its grandson went to Beijing for an exam and brought it back from Beijing to plant it. Cycas lived for a hundred years. Cycas is about 0.2 meters in diameter and 2 meters high. It has pinnate compound leaves and is full of vitality. According to Zhang Fuchu, an 88-year-old man who lives in the house, Cycas bloomed for the first time at 1.999+0. 1.09, and it was really beautiful.

The quadrangular architecture, which embodies the characteristics of Hakka architecture, is the epitome of Hakka culture.
