Introduction to attractions
Lihu Lake, formerly known as Wuli Lake, is an inner lake in the northeast of Taihu Lake. Liyuan, which extends to Lihu Lake, is an old-fashioned park in Wuxi. It has the style of Jiangnan gardens and is famous for its water features. Narrow bridges, bridges and promenades stand over the water. Peach blossoms bloom in March and April, and lotus flowers bloom in June and September, just like a floating garden. The water garden with Japanese and stone themes is very exquisite, and you can come here to enjoy the flowers in spring and summer.
Building Li Garden
In the early years of the Republic of China, eight scenic spots of Qing Dynasty and Qi Dynasty were built on the banks of Li Lake. From 1927 to 1936, Li Garden was built on the original basis, and later expanded several times. It is said that during the Spring and Autumn Period, Master He lived in seclusion on Taihu Lake and rowed boats here. Most of the buildings in the park have Japanese and stone themes. They come here to see love and sophistication. To the left of the Liyuan gate is a group of rockeries. Don't go to the rockery first, walk around before going. Take the direction of Baihuashanfang and go south to Four Seasons Pavilion. The Four Seasons Pavilion refers to a pavilion on each side of the pond. Plum blossoms are planted next to the spring pavilion, oleanders are planted next to the summer pavilion, osmanthus is planted next to the autumn pavilion, and wintersweet is planted next to the winter pavilion. There is a large lawn to the north of the Four Seasons Pavilion. It is very pleasant to sit on the lawn, chat with three or four friends or have a picnic. To the west of Four Seasons Pavilion is the sampan wharf, where you can go boating on the lake. The reference price for a pedal boat is 25 yuan/40 minutes, and the reference price for a hand boat is 20 yuan/40 minutes.
Continue to go south to the Lihu Long Embankment, "Spring Dawn on the South Embankment". This is the best place to enjoy flowers in spring. There is a row of weeping willows on the embankment, and the willows sway in the wind. There are many peach trees among the willow trees. There are many varieties of peach trees, and peach trees of different colors will bloom on one tree. There are also pear blossoms and cherry blossoms. The fallen petals are spread on the lake, like a gorgeous tin embroidery. In the southwest corner of Xiaochun, there is expected to be a lake pavilion "Yuebo Pingdiao" on the south embankment. There is a cruise ship dock where you can take a cruise to Xishi Village.
Xishizhuang
Xishizhuang is a small island artificially piled in the south of Li Lake. It goes around the island along a stone road near the water's edge, with many scenic spots named after Fan Li and Xi Shi scattered along the way. In the museum, there is an illustrated introduction to the life of Gou Jian, the king of Yue, who helped him defeat the state of Wu and went into business after his retirement. Shang has a huge abacus, which is very fun. It takes two hands to pull the beads. The Xishi Garden is decorated with Xishi's embroidery workshop, boudoir and study room, displaying pewter embroidery exhibits. There are also attractions such as the Spring and Autumn Theater on the island. It's not a big island. It takes about 30 minutes to an hour to circle the island.
Take a boat back to Xiaochun, South Embankment, and then walk northeast to Qianbu Corridor. This is an old building in Liyuan, across Lihu Lake, with a wall on one side and water on the other. The 80 hollow flower windows on the wall have different patterns and are very beautiful. At the east end of the front corridor, there is a "clear red smoke and green" pavilion in the center of the lake. Ningchun Tower, across the water from the pavilion, is one of the landmark buildings of the Liyuan due to its small size and strong color contrast. In Liyuan East District, you can see the Ferris wheel in Lihu Park in the east relatively close. With the pear garden as the foreground and the Ferris wheel as the background, the photos taken are very artistic.
Then go northwest and arrive at the Spring and Autumn Pavilion, which is still in the eastern area. The pavilion has three floors and is the tallest building in the pear garden. There is a teahouse upstairs where you can enjoy tea and overlook the beautiful scenery of Li Lake. Finally, back to the rockery group, a large number of Taihu stones have accumulated to form various strange peaks, all named after the word "cloud", such as Yunchao, Yunzu, and Yunchuan. Among them, Guiyun Peak is the tallest, 12 meters high. Entering the rockery group is like entering a maze. You can climb up to the rockery to play.
