Are the measurable, reportable and verifiable emission reduction commitments from Copenhagen bad? Why don’t we give in?

Why should our own emission reductions be subject to supervision by others?

There are now two categories. One is the developed countries, namely the Annex I countries of the Framework Convention on Climate Change. They need measurable, reportable, and verifiable emission reduction commitments, while giving money to other countries to support climate change-related construction.

Another category of developing countries, those outside Annex I, currently do not have any written obligations to reduce emissions, and their current main task is "development." Some of the current commitments made by countries such as China and India are simply based on considerations of great power image, international morality and other aspects, setting the tone for climate negotiations.

If developing countries such as China accept "measurable, reportable and verifiable", it will be no different from the mandatory emission reductions of Annex I countries.
